This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off use Dolby Vision HDR mode for a display in Windows 11.
Starting with Windows 11 build 26100.4202 (24H2), on PCs with Dolby Vision, a new switch lets you turn Dolby Vision on or off independently of HDR—giving you more control over your viewing experience. You can now enjoy HDR with Dolby Vision either on or off based on your preference.
For Dolby Vision certified monitors, Windows will automatically choose Dolby Vision when it is available. However, some monitors may limit peak brightness in Dolby Vision mode, which may not be desired. To enable a non-certified HDR10 mode that may have higher brightness in some circumstances, you can disable Dolby Vision mode.
