This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off import browser data from Microsoft Edge in the Copilot app on Windows 11.

The Microsoft Copilot app is your AI app for work. Copilot connects to the Microsoft 365 apps and content you use every day, creates polished documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, gets things done with Cowork, lets you choose between leading AI models, understands your job and company through Work IQ, and keeps your data protected.

When you sign in to Copilot, your experience adapts to your account: a licensed work-or-school experience with enterprise data protection, or a personal experience for individuals, with or without a Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium subscription.

You can browse web content directly in the Copilot app. You can also import your Microsoft Edge browsing data for a more seamless and personalized experience. For example, your cookies, history, payment info, passwords, and autofill data from Microsoft Edge.

The Bring over your browsing data from Microsoft Edge toggle is turned on by default in the Copilot app.

Reference:

Currently, this setting is only available to individuals whose Microsoft account is based in the United States.

This setting is also available if you're signed in with a work, school, or organizational (Microsoft Entra) account.

Here's How:

1 Open the Copilot app on Windows 11.

2 Sign in to Copilot with your Microsoft account if not already.

3 Open Copilot Chat settings.

4 Click/tap on Web browsing on the left side in Chat settings, and click/tap on Import browser data. (see screenshot below)
