Apps Enable or Disable Keep Copilot app Running on Close in Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off keeping the Copilot app running in the background when you close the Copilot app for your account in Windows 11.

Microsoft Copilot is an AI-powered digital assistant designed to help you with a range of tasks and activities.

Starting with Copilot app version 146 and higher, you can turn on or off keep the Copilot app running on close.

When turned on, the Copilot app will stay running in the background on close, and the Copilot icon will continue to show on the taskbar system tray to reopen or quit Copilot from.

When turned off, the Copilot app will fully close on close.

Here's How:

1 Open the Copilot app.

2 While in full view, click/tap on the Account button on the sidebar, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on Preferences on the left side, and turn on or off (default) On close, keep the app running for what you want. (see screenshot below)
