This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off using Windows Studio Effects for a camera on Windows 11 Copilot+ PC.

Windows Studio Effects is the collective name of AI-powered video call and audio effects that are available on Copilot+ PCs and select Windows 11 devices with compatible NPUs. They include background blur, voice focus, eye contact: standard, and automatic framing, which are available on all Copilot+ PCs. In addition, Snapdragon® X Series devices come with creative filters, portrait light, and eye contact: teleprompter. All effects involve modifying the outbound and inbound audio and video feed to enhance communication. Windows Studio Effects require a device with a built-in camera: Copilot+ PCs using external camera peripherals are not supported.

Starting with Windows 11 build 26100.7309 (24H2) and build 26200.7309 (25H2), you can use Windows Studio Effects, which provides AI-powered camera enhancements, on an additional camera such as a USB webcam or your laptop’s built-in rear camera. To get started, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras, and select your preferred camera from the connected cameras list. Then, open Advanced camera options and turn on Use Windows Studio Effects. After you turn it on, you can adjust Studio Effects from the camera settings page or the quick settings menu in the taskbar.

When you turn on Use Windows Studio Effects, you can access and adjust Studio Effects directly from the camera settings page or via the quick settings menu in the taskbar.

The required update for the Windows Studio Effects driver will first roll out to Intel®-powered Copilot+ PCs with the update rolling out for AMD and Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs in the coming weeks.
