Enabling custom images as for folder previewing like older windows versions?

I'm trying to enable windows folder viewing which has been a staple in many versions allowing people to choose a image to act as a preset preview for what images are stored in the folder with this button. I have also tried reset to default and soon but not working.

Are there hidden settings to fix this or a program compatible with windows 11 to enable this? I once used classic shell to enable a more usable start menu for windows 8.1 but that was years ago.

Unfortunately, this requires the thumbnail preview feature which isn't available until build 22557 and higher.

When is it exactly available, i'm on a Windows 11 Home. Is it in a future Windows 11 update or how long do these features stay in a insider/developer testing phase before release?

Only Microsoft knows that for 100%.

Build 22557 is part of version 22H2 that should be released to the pubic sometime in the second half of 2022. Most likely around October or November 2022.

True i'm all familiar with icons, my very first laptop was a old Toshiba with (Windows XP, my worst was a Acer Aspire with Windows Vista) and same with custom icons like Alienware but it doesn't solve it the way i would want it :cautious:

Normally i'm no stranger to customizing my windows basic needs like icons but i'm trying to find out why Microsoft didn't include basic things like chosen photo images for folders from the start?

Looks like Windows is still not allowing people to enable folder previews? I have followed every possible guide and i don't want to return to windows 10.

(I checked the rules and there is no mention that revival is forbidden. so plz don't frown on me for this.)
