Enabling Intel Virtualization on MSI board causes Win 11 Pro to not boot

If Windows 11 freezes or fails to boot after enabling Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) in your BIOS, it is usually caused by a conflict with the Windows hypervisor, third-party security software, or outdated motherboard firmware.

Bypass the Boot Freeze via Command Line

• • Boot into Safe Mode or open the Advanced Startup recovery command prompt.
  • Type bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off and press Enter to bypass the hypervisor conflict.
  • Restart your PC to get back into Windows.
  
  Update BIOS and Reset BIOS Settings

• Turn off Memory Integrity and Core Isolation in Windows Device Security.

@FreeBooter I've already done those steps to no avail. Memory Integrity is already off; I have updated my BIOS and done a reset. I have done two repair installations of Windows 11.

You must consult with the system/motherboard manufacturer regarding issues with their bios.

Tried that, same result.

sad to hear that.. it sounds as a real issue and not a small one.

As i am curious of me, this is what i would try to do to rule out if its a installed OS issue or a hardware VS OS-version issue.
If you have an empty disk you can put in to your computer (so you dont care about totally wiping the disk).. then enable VT.. then do a clean install and see if it will fail on install.... if it fails on install,..... then it is a hardware related problem. (interesting to know then is then where in the install process did it fail)
If win11 failed to install i would be curious to see if its latest version or if earlier windows versions work... If say the first version of windows 11 works but the 23 and 24 and later dont work.. then it becomes interesting to see what changes did they make that broke hardware VS OS-version.

But this is what i would do as i have a tendency to be curious.

@Marie SWE I'm short on time (having lost hours on this troubleshooting already) so will get some work done on my laptop (which handles the virtualization fine, but I hate the keyboard, tiny screen, etc.). Just a curious question.. have you ever consider to use an old laptop or an old desktop to put in a Linux based OS to run docker and VM's on as a network server and then access it over the network from your windows machines?
Sorry I'm a nerd, so i cant resist asking. *LOL*

@Marie SWE I have only one of each, desktop and laptop, and can't dedicate either one to Linux. I got some help on the MSI forum that I'm trying out, so that may bear fruit.
