Windows 11 Pro 25H2 build 26200.8457
Dobrý den,

Hledám pomoc od uživatelů, kteří znají vnitřnosti instalátoru AMD čipsetu nebo logiku nasazení Ryzen Master.

Narážím na opakovaný problém, kdy instalátor AMD čipsetu a Ryzen Master odmítají instalaci a hlásí:

"Není to systém AMD"
Děje se to i přes plně funkční a správně detekovanou AMD platformu.

Podrobnosti o systému:

  • Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (build 26200)
  • AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (AuthenticAMD detekováno)
  • Gigabyte B650M GAMING X AX
  • UEFI režim, Secure Boot ZAPNUTO, TPM 2.0 ZAPNUTO

Hello, this is an English speaking forum. Please post your threads in English . Here is a translation of this user's thread as run through Chatgpt.

Hello,

I’m looking for help from users familiar with the internals of the AMD chipset installer or the deployment logic of Ryzen Master.

I’m running into a recurring issue where both the AMD chipset installer and Ryzen Master refuse to install and report:

“This is not an AMD system”

This happens despite the system being a fully functional and correctly detected AMD platform.

System details

  • Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (build 26200)
  • AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (detected as AuthenticAMD)
  • Gigabyte B650M GAMING X AX
  • UEFI mode, Secure Boot ENABLED, TPM 2.0 ENABLED

Problem summary

  • AMD chipset installer (8.05.04.516) fails during platform validation
  • Ryzen Master installation fails with the same detection error
  • Gigabyte chipset package also refuses to install
  • AMD GPU driver installs normally without issues

However, the system state clearly indicates full chipset functionality:

  • All AMD chipset devices are present and marked OK in Device Manager
(SMBus, GPIO, PSP, I2C, PCIe switch ports, USB controllers, etc.)
  • AMD kernel drivers load and run:
    • amdgpio2
    • amdpsp (active boot driver)
    • AmdPPM (power management)
    • amdi2c
  • AMD services are running:
    • AMD Crash Defender
    • AMD External Events Utility
    • AmdPpkgSvc
  • CPU correctly identified as AuthenticAMD
  • No WHEA errors, BSODs, or system instability

Important observation

The chipset is clearly functioning at the OS and hardware level, but AMD installer-based tools consistently fail during the detection/validation phase.

What I’ve already ruled out

  • Hardware problems (system is stable under load)
  • Missing chipset drivers (all AMD core drivers are present and functional)
  • Windows corruption (SFC/DISM clean)
  • GPU driver stack issues (Adrenalin installs normally)
  • Basic WMI / CPU detection issues (CPU properly identified)

My specific question

Is this a known issue with the AMD chipset installer / Ryzen Master validation logic on Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200), or could it indicate a corrupted AMD MSI / installer product registration state in Windows registry or installer metadata that is blocking AMD platform detection?

At this point, the system is fully functional, but the AMD installer ecosystem refuses to properly recognize it.

Specifically looking for

  • confirmation whether this is a known installer bug on newer Windows builds
  • insight into how AMD setup validates “AMD platform presence”
  • a way to reset AMD installer state without a full OS reinstall

Any insights from people familiar with AMD installer internals would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

thanks for the suggestion.

I checked the Gigabyte chipset driver (7.12.04.858). It appears to already be installed or matched on my system.

Current state:

  • AMD SMBus / GPIO / PSP / I2C all present and working
  • All AMD chipset drivers are loaded and signed correctly
  • Device Manager shows no missing or failed components
  • System is stable with no WHEA or hardware issues

So reinstalling the chipset package does not seem to change anything.

The original issue (“Not an AMD system” in AMD installer / Ryzen Master) still persists despite correct hardware detection.

At this point it looks more like an AMD installer/platform validation issue rather than a missing chipset driver.

Any ideas on what exactly AMD installer checks for platform validation would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks, good point.

In my case I already checked this angle — chipset stack is currently fully active in Windows (SMBus, GPIO, PSP, I2C all present and working), not just leftover installer packages.

So a standard 7.x → 8.x clean uninstall/reinstall likely won’t change the state, since the issue only appears in AMD installer / Ryzen Master validation step, not in driver functionality itself.

At this point it seems more related to platform detection rather than installed chipset package state.

Had exactly the same problem. Turns out that you will need to install / enable the now deprecated VBScript to get it from 7.x to 8.x chipset drivers. I think the later drivers no longer require VBScript - it is just the 7.x driver installer that uses it. Too long ago to remember the details but maybe uninstalling 7.x drivers and try to install 8.x driver might circumvent the problem. I just installed VBScript and deinstalled it afterwards. No problems updating the 8.x driver since then.
