Solved Experiment - Install Windows 11 Beta on Intel based Chromebook

Not even sure if this is possible:
1. Aim: Install Windows 11 natively (not VM) on an Acer Chromebook
2. Target machine Acer Spin 13 Chromebook i5 8th gen 128GB nvme drive 8GB RAM
3. Disable Chromebook security to allow booting from a flash drive - Expecting this to be the hardest nut to crack
4. Progress so far:
Made bootable Chrome OS back up image
Placed Chromebook into Developer mode
Windows 11 ISO made with Rufus without TPM and CPU requirements
Next step is to crack the secure boot on the machine

Just upgraded this am to 11 pro on a PC which wont pass for 3 things, UEFI, CPU and TPM

Was very easy and quick. I downloaded win11 install using media creation tool, mounted by clicking ISO file. Copied all files to folder on desktop. In sources folder, deleted appraiserres.dll Ran the setup, told it NOT to check for updates. It is all working so far. Found the method in this video

ISO with bypass all done, currently working on enable boot from usb within chrome developer shell

So working with crosh, entered the command sudo crossystem dev_boot_usb=1 which returns as that I can now boot from a usb. Back to the developer start up screen and enter ctrl+L and get nothing. Maybe a long evening

Running into restart problems now, basically everytime I enter a command. There's a firmware script I need to run that doesn't list my machine as one that's been tested, need to stop the reboots though first

Had enough of this tonight now, these things are locked down tighter than a drum, give it some fresh eyes and attitude tomorrow

No go I'm afraid. Gave it a good shot but you know what they say about carrying out exactly the same procedures over and over and expecting a different result, plus my wife wants her Chromebook back and I can use the "it's updating" excuse no longer

Yeah looked at that, it’s a guide for older chrome books which have a physical write protect screw that you could remove. The one I have (the wife’s) doesn’t have that screw and has to be write enabled through chrosh using custom firmware scripts, It seems though that the security has moved on a bit and the firmware scripts no longer work. Hey ho.
