External link doesn't open anymore in Edge

Hi forum,
I always open "tg" protocol with Telegram desktop (I use the portable version and had no problem with it). MS Edge suddenly stopped to open this type of link in Telegram Desktop app. Is there a way to re-associate this link type with Edge and Telegram again?
The Internet speed is limited in my region (it is temporary, because of a special social event!
). I have to use a proxy or VPN to connect (these are another problem for me!). Could that be the reason?

It doesn't work here. Clicking on the link doesn't open it. These days Internet is a massive mess here
. I just want to make sure if this is a new restriction or a problem with Edge. That was working before.
