Solved Extremely annoying & intrusive interruptions by McAfee

I keep getting these extremely intrusive & annoying interruptions from McAfee Internet Security and/or Anti-Virus that keep popping up on my screen every few minutes whenever I'm using Google Chrome web browser. How the hell can I get rid of them permanently? Once I clicked on the option that was available to "Not show this again", but now the interruptions have returned, without the option! PLEASE HELP - I would appreciate it very much; thanks.

I don't know exactly how it started recently, but it's all completely unsolicited, and I'm so pissed at McAfee for all the extremely ridiculous things they've done to my PC over the years that I would say that even the very worst types of death penalty for the people at McAfee would still be not enough to satisfy me.

Where exactly are they popping up? What does "on my screen" mean?

Do they pop up in the browser itself? Or do they pop up from your Windows notification area? Or from somewhere else?

They keep popping up as a large rectangle in the center of my PC's screen whenever I'm using Google Chrome web browser. Please see the attachment.

My wife gets McAfee and sometimes Norton pop-ups when/after visiting Facebook and usually when clicking the Comments link on a story, using Edge. She can close Edge and play some games but going back to Facebook recalls the pop-ups.

AdwCleaner, by Malwarebytes, is a free and very powerful adware removal tool, which specialize in nuking this type of "nuisance-ware." You could download it from here, and run it, if you want the peace of mind that the McAfee popups are gone for good.

New wrinkle in the McAfee theme, got a spam text this morning from an 808 number supposedly in Hawaii about my renewal of the program which I had not ordered. Price had gone up, now over $600.

This pretty much smells like a scam rather than a spam from McAfee. The phone number is suspicious. A "response" you get that you didn't initiate is odd. The unrealistic exorbitant price, something used to motivate you to react hastily, is strange. McAfee's non-discounted unlimited device plan "only" costs $200/year.

No way I'll respond to the text but did store it in my SPAM folder. Since '92 I've used many of the AV programs and many were good, a good one with several other programs went into the outhouse after being bought by another company. Haven't had any issues with the built-in.
