Sometimes by changing the name of a bookmark (favourite), the favicon will miss! Does anybody have such a problem, or is this a bug?

I see it when I change the name, and no I do not believe it's a bug.

What's happening is once you change the name you destroy the link's ability to phone home to create the favicon.

Btw; Nice presentation!

I thought Edge had a conflict with RTL languages (like its/Adobe PDF engine)! I was glad the day Edge changed its PDF engine to Adobe. I thought RTL languages would be supported (right alignment), but it got worse! Microsoft doesn't care about RTL languages :nope:...

Why does this happen for some URLs?

Many thanks.
There's good and bad in all things.

B/c those urls have their act together as their developers have allowed for just that possibility, i.e. No matter what's done to the name it's hard coded to produce the favicon. The urls that don't produce the favicon aren't hard coded.

When I run into this situation I just accept it and move on, as it might get fixed down the road. Why get stressed over something so trivial?

You're welcome!

Many of the favicons will return, it just takes time. Have you connected to those sites?

My brain tells me something is wrong there! I can't see an ugly "New File" outline icon s.png there instead of the URL favicon. I usually hide the name, and the icon is important to see what URL is on my favourites bar.

Many of the favicons will return, it just takes time. Have you connected to those sites?
Yes! I forgot to mention they return if you reload the page (after renaming). Of course, you have to be connected. The problem is I edit the URL names after disconnecting! I think it's something about Edge cache.

My last two reply's were based on logic, but most some? of the time my logic can run askew and this was buggin' me. There is a better answer and it has to do with the edge cache: Favicon NOT working on Edge | Stackoverflow
Thanks. Complicated discussion there (for me).
I remember Firefox had no such problem, but it had another problem! After restoring favourites (after Windows installation), Firefox was missing all favicons. You had to reload pages (URLs) to get the favicons again!
Edge has perfect behaviour in restoring favourites. After reinstalling the Edge and restoring favourites, the favicons are there and no need to connect and reload all pages to get them!
