Solved File sharing

After installed Windows 11 I can't see other computers in my home network as before. I can only see my NAS and also connect to it. Previous file sharing does not work anymore. File sharing center doesn't seem to look like before. I have two Windows 10 computer and one Windows 11 in my network.
After Windows 7 file sharing become more complicating and hard to get working. Now it look like it become even more hard. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Anyone know how to get around this?

They are all in the same network as before. Nothing changed. In one Windows 10 computer, I can't see th computer in Network. But I can see the Windows 11 computer but can't connect to it. Says that password is wrong. It worked before though with same pass.

Edit: I see myself now. Forgot to check sharing resources. But Win 11 computer does not display the other computer.

Since you have a Windows 7 computer you want to share with on the network, be sure you have SMB1 enabled on all computers.

Not windows 7, Just Windows 10 and 11. Still SMB? I can open up shared folders on Win 11 but can't open to see the files. No permission.

No need for SMB1 with just W10 and W11.

SMB1 does make it easier to share and see them, but it is more of a security risk.

You can, but be sure SMB Direct is still checked.

Ok, in Win 11 has no SMB direct. Still can't see the win 10 computer. Win 10 can see the Win 11 folders but not open. No permission. I have set the sharing to full access though. The only folder I can open is Users. When I try to open shared folder I need reading permission!? I have all permission so why is That?

When sharing, you'll need to use the account's credentials that own the share on the computer you are trying to access unless you have password protected sharing turned off.

If none of the above helps, test with SMB1 enabled on both computers.

Personally, I never did find File Sharing on Windows very reliable, and ended up using a NAS to share files on between all my devices on the same network.

I have password protected sharing turned off and SMB enabled, but same problem. I thing it is easier to share files through my NAS, that always work. Sharing has always been a problem since I updated my computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now 11.

It was a few services that need to be turned on. A common problem it seems. Tomorrow I will continue to see if I can get file sharing working properly.

I had the same problem and after trying all the solutions I found, I only managed to solve it with editing the windows registry, like this:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\AllowInsecureGuestAuth
set to 1 and exit.

That sounds dangerous to me. Did you get that solution from a trusted source?

As shown here I don't share other computers, have 5 Desktops [Win10 Home, Win10 Pro, Win11 IP Dev, Linux Mint] connected via Ethernet and 2 Wireless Notebooks [Win10 Pro and Win11 Pro]. My needs are only for file storage and access to the 2 x 2TB NAS drives, Y: and Z:, and the Public folders on them and Mapping the Public from any computer desired.
