Hi, I am trying to print a six page document, which has both sides. My printer has option to print odd and even pages. When I select the odd pages only to print, it prints , but from the last of the odd page selected. I went to the settings and checked the layout and found that the default print order is front to back. Why this i do not know. I have not changed the default settings in my print menu when printing.
It is a pdf an do the pdf print properties have the kind of settings to print back to front.
How do i fix it for all my future documents once for all to print front to back, i.e. first page to be printed first in my printer.

My HP OfficeJet Pro and HP LaserJet Pro do the same and I just assume it's arranged that way to facilitate fastening multi-page documents together, lift the group out of the tray and staple, makes life easier for office workers. Same when hole-punching for binders. The OJ come out face up and the LJ come out face down, just the way the internal mechanism works. Double-sided is different from single-sided. Some printer settings can be changed in Devices and Printers for the Default machine but programs can have other settings that need to be investigated for the purpose.

Depending on what program you are using there is an option "Properties" for the printer to adjust the page order....Front to back, and Back to Front.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
It's done this way by design, you wouldn't want to sit and manually reverse a 300 odd page book that you just printed would you?

Hi, bamianhark, there is an option which default is set to front to back. The preview also shows the order of 1,3,5 in order. But it prints last page first. Hi, if it is by design, Rollback, then why there is a menu to select front to back, and back to front. in layout menu. May be the printing of different options has some hidden menu. Roll back, i have a printer that does not automate the continuous printing of back and front pages. I have to manually feed. the odd pages first, and then even pages.

Hi, bruceR, the settings you mentioned is duplex printing , two sided. But my printer is not having auto duplex printing nor support it.
Normally odd pages should print 1.3,5 then 2,4 ,6 , and I need to just collect after odd page printing and then the even pages for the nexttime.
the problem is front to back does not work as expected , and that is the concern here. there is a chance of disarranging here. There should be some solution to this problem

But you can select "Print on Both Sides Manually".

Did you visit the HP link I provided and view the video there?

The video explains how that setting allows the printer to take care of double-sided (with your reloading assistance).

After following all the solutions, it prints the last page in first, even though, I have selected , front to back layout, and odd pages, it printed 5,3, i in order instead of 1,3,5.

Then, I changed the Front to back to Back to Front, and tried the same printing of pages. Wow, It prints the first page firstly and in order. I think that You have to change the Front to Back to Back to front to print correctly.

Normally front to back, means first page first, but it behaves the opposite way.
