The people are viking descendants, the country is 'relatively new', the newest land on the planet. Their language is almost pure viking. Volcanic in nature, ongoing, and there are parts of the coast which never freeze over, due to the gulf stream. The animals are wonderful, from artic foxes that crossed the ice from Greenland to the pure descendants of the horses the vikings brought with them. I watched a documentary on Discovery onyl yesterday about this wonderful land and the amazing people. 95% of the world supply of eider down comes from carefully harvested Eider nests. Iceland, a little bit of heaven on earth.
