GPU errors in the event viewer

First of all, the only "weird" thing I've noticed is lag in some games and an occasional crash in one game. I don't know if this is normal or if it's a problem with my PC.

I'm getting the following errors in the Event Viewer (live kernel events):
  • Bug Check 0x193: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_LIVEDUMP
  • Bug Check 0x1B8: VIDEO_MINIPORT_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP
  • Bug Check 0x1A8: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP
Could these errors in the event viewer be due to the monitor? I use a smart monitor and sometimes it has trouble restarting, to the point where I have to force a restart on the monitor. Maybe all of this is normal and I'm just overanalyzing?

My pc: I7-13700Kf/rtx 4080 Super, the motherboard is a Z790-A Wifi, DDR5 32gb ram. The PSU is 1200W.

I have attached V2 and tuneup logs.

Thanks.

Yes, there are quite a few red failure flags. I've attached the XML file I exported from Reliability History.

Thanks.

I stay at hotfix Nvidia 581.94 and this driver is very good no zero issues on my Nvidia RTX4080 FE. I have try install update latest Nvidia Driver but it awful driver bug not really good smooth or colour issues. Why don't you try go back to Hotfix and wait for next driver coming soon! (y)

I installed that driver version (581.94) using DDU beforehand to clean up the installed driver. Although my card is a 4080 super instead of a standard 4080.

I'll see in a week or two, by reviewing the reliability history, if those errors occur.

Thanks!

There's nothing wrong with your graphics drivers. The problems started after windows updated.

Are these the exact errors I mentioned in the post? Are you having the same problem? I've had these problems for at least a month or two.

Thanks.

I installed that driver version (581.94) using DDU beforehand to clean up the installed driver
Here are some tips for using DDU.
Use DDU in safe mode to make sure you clear everything out.
Disable your network in device manager before using DDU and keep it disabled until after you install the driver.
Windows will try to install Nvidia drivers as soon as you boot back into windows even if you have driver updates disabled.
So you end just updating whatever version windows just installed instead of having a clean install which defeats the purpose of using DDU.
After driver install then enable your network again.

In Reliability History, select ---View all problem reports ---found at the page bottom.
Select any problem line, then RIGHT click on it.
Then left click on ---View Tech Details ---
The first 3 [three ] lines give you the problem name, allowing you to search for a solution.

I read the entire report file. There weren't any errors until your machine updated on the 8th. Your problem isn't unique. You would not have these errors if windows hadn't updated. That is a fact.

8 January Nvidia driver 560.94

I have never used DDU in 30 years of Nvidia Graphics cards. Never used "latest driver" in 29 yr 10 mths of that 30 years.

You have nothing installed that requires "latest driver".

10/19 January some games, Rocket League, Train strategy, stopped responding, report sent that is normal that eventually gets to the game designers, nothing you can do. Almost every game does that at some point.

8/11/12/16/17/18/22/23/24 January Hardware errors. That starts basically after you using DDU and installing Nvidia driver 560.94 plus numerous updates and a couple of games.
So much so that it is difficult to pick a culprit if there is one.

25 January Reliability "score" says 9.27 which is basically no worries.

It is much easier to do a screen shot of the Reliability monitor, rather than hacking thru an XML text file.

"Hardware errors" are difficult to analyse, and likely do not relate directly to hardware.

I used to get a few now and again and currently they have gone for the last 3 months, basically after the 25H2 version update. Hardware does not repair itself thus a bit of a mystery message.

You will have to see to items on and after the 8 January to try and suss what possibilities there are. There is clearly a lot more possibilities other than Windows updates

I don't understand what you mean by the Nvidia version "560.94". In this Windows installation I've only used DDU once, to switch between the latest Nvidia driver version and an older one, "581.94," as Coolmistry suggested.

Today I encountered another error in the Event Viewer and Reliability History, a LiveKernelEvent.

What happened: The computer had turned off the screen after being inactive for a while (which is normal), but when I pressed a key or moved the mouse, the screen didn't turn back on. The screen is a Samsung Smart Monitor, and this has happened to me before. I usually fix it by simply forcing a restart. Once that was done, the screen returned to normal, and then I saw the error in the Event Viewer and Reliability History.

Could this be due to the monitor itself causing these errors?

Thanks.

Edit: Two live kernel event errors appear, one with code "1a8" and the other two with code "1b8"

Sometimes it is wise to update to the latest driver if that driver address vulnerabilities in the current driver.
Just like when windows releases a security update.

You can find out on the Nvidia security page.

In Terminal [admin],type in ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth ---and run it.
When finished, type in ---sfc /scannow ---and run it until a clean report is given.
Then operate the system in Safe Mode and see if the problem still persists.
