Had to enter my Office 2019 key yet again...

This makes four times in the past month. Office keeps saying that it is not activated, and yes my key is valid and Office is from a reputable source.

Is anyone else having this issue? It seems to go south after every Windows update. Last month all of my activation keys were invalidated after an update (Windows, Office, Visio, and Visual Studio Pro 2022). Am I missing something here? Or am I doing something wrong? Re-entering the key makes it work again, but I shouldn't have to do this on a regular basis.

Apparently quite a few people, could be anything.

Hardware ID (HWID) Changes After Updates
Some Windows updates (especially cumulative or major feature updates) refresh hardware identifiers, which Microsoft uses to validate licenses. This can confuse the activation system and trigger deactivation, especially for Retail or MAK keys.

Account & Licensing Sync Glitches
If Office or Visual Studio is linked to your Microsoft account, sometimes the link breaks or fails to sync properly after updates. You may see messages like "Product Deactivated" even though it's still associated correctly.

Token Corruption
Activation information is stored in a cache/token database on your system. Some updates seem to corrupt or reset this, causing licenses to be unrecognized.

Broader licensing service problem (like sppsvc issues)
Third-party security software interfering with the update/licensing processes

This isn’t super helpful, but we have a couple hundred machines on no -365 versions of Office, and none of them are doing this. Something’s rotten in your Denmark.

I hear U... I did say sometimes To the OP, I ran into this problem once with Office way back. As I recall, I saved the key, uninstalled Office then scrubbed the registry. Followed that up with a reinstall of Office, adding the key, and all was good. Only a suggestion, may not work for you....
