Updating a BIOS has always come with risks. It's why it helps to know what you're doing and how to escape a situation should one arise.I think the valid point of this OP's warning is not that updating bios will cause a problem,but that it can. The regulars here already know my opinions against using any kind of Windows Hello as well as bitlocker.
And now that I know what to expect, I know how to deal with it. And the solution is rather simple. And I see Windows Hello as a useful security feature. That's me.
As for using Window's Hello / BitLocker understanding is key. I have no issues using either but that's me. And it's not like you get a BIOS update every day, but your system's security is tested every day.
