Solved Hidden Default folder

The Users folder has a Public folder, my individual folder and a hidden Default folder with essentially the same folder structure as my individual folder, but they are empty.

What is this hidden Default folder? Why is it there? What is it used for? Can I delete it? Why leave it there or why delete it?

Do not delete thise folders - they are templates for Windows to use when adding new accounts.
