Solved Highlights not working

Hi, I don't really know what this is called but here is a description of what the problem is, perhaps somebody can help me sort it out.

When I click on a filename or in fact anything that seems to execute (single click) windows does not show a highlight on the filename or whatever I have clicked on, the item is selected because if I click on it again it opens or does whatever it is supposed to do. Its like the highlight has suddenly changed to transparent or is the same colour as the item i have clicked on. This seems to be across the board because I have now noticed it in utorrent but I have seen it in alot of other places too. This is extremely irritating because after I have clicked on something no highlight appears so I'm not sure if I have clicked properly or perhaps I clicked slightly above or below where I intended, sure an extra click sorts out the problem but non the less its extremely inconvenient.

Do you mean the highlight of a selected item?
if so:

Right-click on the desktop and select "Personalize" from the context menu. ->
In the left-hand pane of the Personalization window, select "Colors." ->
Scroll down and find the section labeled "Choose your accent color." ->
Select the color you want to use as your highlight color.
Note: Make sure the "Show color on Start, taskbar, and action center" toggle is turned on.

Have you tried under another profile to see if the behavior is repeated?
Administrator or a temp profile?
A screenshot would help and you haven't answered the question:

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I had problems with my internet connection - now sorted out thank heavens. As I said before to your original suggestion about the accent colour. it was already checked so it did not help, but I toggled the setting off and then on again in the hopes that it would change this. On reboot this morning, I didnt have a spare moment to use my computer yesterday and I could not log in on my phone, its seems to have helped and now only utorrent seems to have the highlight issue but on further research this morning it seems to be a problem related to only utorrent, not the concern of this forum. I thank you for your time.
