I know this thread is marked solved but wanted to throw in another suggestion for anyone who might come here for this same issue. For years I have used a little portable app called DoubleDriver Backup and Restore. It's an old app but still works great in 10/11. What I like about it is the way it lays out the drivers in a way that makes sense.(see screenshot) You have to run it as administrator.

No installation- It's portable. Just download it, unzip it, right click on the dd.exe and run as admin.
Select scan current system. All the non-MS drivers will be checked. You can backup any or all of them into a structured folder like the screenshot..

The good thing about this little app it it can also scan an offline hard drive for drivers if it's ever needed.

That's right. Everything checked are the non-Microsoft drivers that are not included as part of the OS. What is automatically checked as non-Ms drivers are the only ones you need to backup. Just click 'backup now' and they will all be backed up. The default location is a 'Doubledriver' folder located in your documents, but I always select a usb drive to backup to or I move the folder from its default location to my usb drive.

FYI- I notice you have the Intel Rapid Storage Controller/Raid. I don't know about Asus, but in case of a clean install, my Dell will not detect my M.2 drive unless this driver is inserted during the install process. Asus should provide instructions on the support site for your system. These days many people add the driver to their installation media. I don't, but instead insert a second flash drive and point the install process to the folder where that driver resides. In case Asus does not provide instructions for your machine, you can take a look at the instructions for my Dell here. The process should be the same. There are also instructions on Intel site here

firas455,

This topic has been discussed in other threads and a test was posted:-

I also found some HP guidance:-

Best of luck,

Can I use the backups created by Double Driver to install the driver via Device Manager-Update Driver or during the install process by pointing to the folder on a USB that has, for example, the M.2 drive? Or will they only restore from Double Driver?

via Device Manager-Update Driver
You can update a driver that way. You do not have to use the restore in DD. But if you will notice it also backs up the software components associated with the drivers as well. For example, my Intel graphics driver has the Intel graphics control panel app. If I want to use that I would have to restore it using the restore function of DD. Basically, DD backs up everything that a manufacturer's .exe file installed.

Most people these days choose to let Windows update install their drivers after a clean install and it does a pretty good job of it. Personally, I do not, and have auto driver update turned off, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with letting windows update handle it if one is unsure. For people who are unfamiliar with drivers, it makes it easy.

As far as using the IRST driver within DD during install, I've never done it since I have the f6 drivers I got from Dell, but I can not see why it wouldn't work. Keep in mind your system may not even need an f6 driver. As @Try3 said, you can run the test he mentioned above to verify it.

I might point out, I never have to do a clean install any more. I keep regular backup images that can get me back in business in 15 minutes if ever need be. Having a backup plan is one of the most important things a computer user can do for themselves.

Hi there
Probably an easier method that doesn't require the use of 3rd party products is to simply save a copy of the driverstor in Windows and then on the next Windows update if drivers aren't updated in the new version or are missing simply install manually against each required device --> install from this computer --> browse to the driver store and install.

You can even mount a Macrium image and install from that. I've done this a few times when installing from new some W11 versions. I've needed to use the working drivers from W10.

It depends on your hardware but Windows can do a lot of things easily enough without needing a load of 3rd party products.

Cheers
jimbo

Conclusions :
1) Bat file works at win 11 as i test it.
2) Double Driver is easier way to manage drivers backups
3) I take an error about the default Desktop path when i run the batch file. I will create a new post in order to try to fix it. Finally it creates the folder at my desktop but is empty :

Sure, there are always third-party utils that will perform tasks like this for you, but I always like having options to perform such tasks with no third-party utilities at all. This way I can walk up to ANY Windows system and perform this task without having to locate or rely upon anything external.

Just in case it interests you to know how to do this, you can use a single command to backup every installed driver, and then a single command to restore all of them.

To backup all your drivers, simply run thios command from an elevated command prompt:

Code:
pnputil /export-driver * C:\Drivers
You can chage the path to anything you want. When done, make sure to backup that folder to a location that won't be wiped out if you perform a clean install of Windows.

After installing Windows, you can restore all those backed up drivers with one command like this:

Code:
pnputil /add-driver C:\Drivers\*.inf /subdirs /install
Again, replace the path with the location where you have the drivers backup.

Note that both the backup and installation of the drivers can take several minutes. Also, when installing the drivers, at the point where the display driver is being installed, the screen may flash or go dark temporarily. This is normal and expected behavior.
