I do not know what is causing this issue. I've tried using different driver versions (including the one supplied by ASUS on their website), even the generic windows drivers already on the laptop. Using Realtek drivers, my headphones do not show up as a different device, instead being one with the speakers. Using the generic driver, my headphones show up as a separate output, yet there is no headphone input. In both cases, the headphones are the output, not the laptop speakers, and the built-in microphones are the input detected and used. Yes, I know the thing about separating the inputs in the Realtek settings. They don't show up for me regardless of driver version.

The 3.5 mm jack in the laptop is a combo jack, so I do think it should be able to detect the headphone mic.
