One caveat, there's been some changes between Version 21H2 [shown in your My Computer] and Version 22H2, some things don't always work the same.

There was a package called "Aero Glass for Windows" that patched system files to provide the Windows 7 aero glass effects, but it apparently does not work on later Windows 10 releases (let alone Windows 11) and reportedly broke Windows and/or broke itself with Windows updates. The developer's website no longer exists. You can still download the app from places like MajorGeeks, but I recommend only trying it on a virtual machine, as there's a high-probability of breakage.

Other than that, WinAero Tweaker can be used to apply an "Aero Lite" theme which has no translucent effects. It's really just a color theme.

Through both Win-11 settings, and the Classic Shell, I've removed all Aero from my PC.
Without that effort, it would be all over the place, by default, without me having to add it.

Enable the hidden Aero Lite theme in Windows 10

Similar to Windows 8, the brand new Windows 10 comes with a secret hidden Aero Lite theme, which can be enabled with just a simple text file. It changes

winaero.com

I don't know if this works on Win 11 or not.
It's also an option in Winaero Tweaker in the Appearance section.

If you have a recent backup, it's easy enough to try.

AeroGlass simply won't work on Windows 11 and, the Aero-Lite theme will make things white-out...

Startallback offers some good customisation but at the end of the day window blinds still king.

You just have to take the time to search to realize that the problems with Aero Lite in the explorer are easily circumvented. For example: https://www.askvg.com/tip-enable-full-classic-file-explorer-in-windows-11/
After that, there are no more bugs with Aero Lite. Provided you use light mode, which makes sense, because Aero IS a light visual style. It is not intended to work in dark mode (but the screenshot shows it in dark mode). So even without making the changes from the link I gave, Aero Lite works almost perfectly in light mode.

When WindowsBlind, I do not see how it is the best. There are many great custom visual styles. Which do not slow down the system, unlike WindowsBlind.

Aero Lite it is designed to work in light mode. In ligh mode, there is almost no problem.

An alternative to the defunct AeroGlass is MicaForEveyrone : GitHub - MicaForEveryone/MicaForEveryone: Mica For Everyone is a tool to enable backdrop effects on the title bars of Win32 apps on Windows 11.
It's not perfect, but this tool is able to add transparency to window frames.

I'm quite content with the W11 UI..., all I use is StartAllBack and QTTabBar...

I set color to Default and backdrop to None just to get the the blue title bar in File Explorer. I tried Mica effect before but the text was blur. What I was doing wrong?

With Mica for Everyone and DWMBlurGlass. I chose a more frosted look, but you can set to a more Win 7 look, or transparent...you can even change the look of Chrome, though Edge will only do Mica...

Glass8 project has been resurrected. Just installed and played with it on my 23H2. Works great. Takes a few mins to figure out configs via Reg keys tho... no GUI yet.

A little help here. I downloaded OpenGlass, ran Install.bat as Administrator, nothing changed on screen. I ran startup.bat as Administrator, nothing changed. I could not restart my computer at the moment. Do I need to restart it for the changes to take effect? Also I didn't see any application or setting for OpenGlass. How do I configure it? Readme on GitHub wasn't any helpful.

I wont say you cant I havent done the patching system files for theming etc since windows 10, but i do know there are a bunch of well known windows modding sites where it may be possible, or to find a completely modded and stripped Windows 11 install is another possibility. Google is your friend. Sorry I cant remember all those sites and well this isnt the forum to be spreading those site on anyway.

sure! took me a bit to figure it all out too. so i've taken the notes on the github page and recompiled them in a spreadsheet (screenshot below) for ease of understanding. NOTE *when you need to create a key in HKLM or HKCU, you can just go to one destination, then right click on the DWM key in the left pane and click "go to hkey_current_user" or the other way around for quick access to each hive. if you want it 'as glass looking' as i have gotten it over a day span (see my below screenshot), here are all my reg settings:

^also some dwm string values that are default.. i just cropped those out of the image (leave them alone)

and set your windows accent color (because of the dumb borders they use, it leaves a bit of a trace of your accent, so i made it blend best as possible):

Pair OpenGlass with SAB Win7 taskbar and Nilesoft Shell Context Menu and you have a full aeroglass pack that takes up little to no resources

*After all changes, Reboot

EDIT - Also, i used winaero tweaker to change the titlebar font size to Segoe UI, Semibold and the titlebar height to 25 (you can do that without winaero via reg if you want)
