Hello!
I have downloaded many files that have the
Thank you in advance.
I have downloaded many files that have the
| symbol in the filename and I want to replace it or remove it. Because they are over 70 files, I tried to use PowerRename from Microsoft PowerToys, so I don't have to manually rename them one-by-one. The problem is that I cannot find a way to properly describe the | symbol in the "Find" field. If I just type it and leave the "Use Regular Expressions" option unchecked, it finds nothing because it is a special control character which should not be used in filenames. If I check the box it tries to replace every single character in the filename with the "Replace" field! Disaster!. I Googled but could not find a working solution. I read somewhere that I should type \| in the find field, it didn't work. I then tried to describe the character using the respective parameters for hexadecimal or ASCII or octal value, none worked, these parameters don't apply in PowerRename. The obvious solution would be to just manually rename all files one-by-one, but it is not convenient for more than 15-20 files! Anyone knows the proper syntax or other workaround, apart from the manual labor of course.Thank you in advance.
