I did not mean that but I mean the number of incremental images preserved for example I dont need more than 3 incremental images . It should be in backup options but I cant find this option.

As far as I can tell, it is not as flexible as other packages - I think you set it up to do a full every 3 days, and one incrementals daily.

You can also set it up how long to keep backups.

So if you set it up to do a full back and 6 incrementals say, it would repeat itself once a week.

Then if you set it to retain the full backups 3 weeks, you would always have the last two fulls and associated incrementals.

In the end, you may need to experiment to get it to work how you want.

As far as I know, it does not have the "incrementals forever" feature of Macrium Reflect.

I suggest you ask on the hasleo forum for more guidance,

This is a similar question for both Macrium (paid) and Aomei (older version 6.5.1 where incremental is free) - how many increments before a full backup ?

This is a matter of personal nuance in my view, unless actual external HDD capacity is limited.

Since recovery, which is the entire point of image backup, becomes dependent on a chain of increments (which increases its' links cumulatively), the risk of an incremental file in the chain becoming corrupted over time seems to me to be an increasing worry. If one of the increments fails, so does the recovery. One needs to retreat back along the chain to find a reliable point of return.

Yet re-iterating a full backup every week or whenever, or a differential, consumes both time and disk space, with each differential rendering the previous ones redundant unless the most recent goes corrupt.

So my compromise of time/space/reliability for all three (Macrium 8, Aomei and Hasleo) is six increments, then delete all increments (retaining only the initial full backup) and then restart the incremental chain. In the case of Macrium differentials only, I keep only the two most recent.

Sure other people will have differing strategies. This is just my compromise of time/space/reliability/cost.
