Solved How to force close a web site

This one is rather confusing, at least to me: It started when I created an account with a valid merchant as I was tired of entering the same data each time I placed an order. Using that information, the site accepted my signup and logged me on. I then created a Keepass entry for the site.

I placed my order, whereupon I could find no way of logging off. Wondering what would happen were I to use my Keepass entry with Edge, it was rejected as a user name cannot be used, only an email address. I deleted same, entered my email address, and was logged on. There, I found the order I had placed, as well as a simple way of logging off.

I revised my Keepass entry, and told it to enter the site using Firefox, where I found the page which has no way of letting me sign off. I made another call to the merchant, who checked their records for me, and determined that I have only one account. Given that I can log in and out in Edge with my revised account, that has to be that one account, and the one that appears in Firefox and cannot be killed is not the valid account.

All of which ends up with a query: How can I force that page in Firefox to go away?

I don't use or understand all that Keepass stuff, but...
Have you tried clearing the cache and cookies... in Firefox?

Yes, and sadly, that has had no effect on the rogue web page.

Keepass is my password manager; I am in contact with the author and, also sadly, so far to no effect.

To add to @Ghot is saying, open Firefox and in the url bar, type <noparse>about:references#privacy</noparse>

Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data section. Click on Manage Data. Enter the website you're trying to remove. Then click on Move Selected. Then Save Changes. Close the pop up window and close Firefox.

Reopen Firefox and in the url box, type in the website you're trying to gain access and see if you are logged out.

Don't tell anyone, I cheated by simply opening Settings and going to Cookies and Site Data.... (because your suggested entry does not work for me, alas.)

Yet further mystery: I entered the URL, which Firefox cannot find! It works in Edge, so it is obviously correct.

I would bet that the url you are entering is not the base url of the site. (I may not be using the proper terminology here). It is probably a secondary url that is created after one is logged on. Therefore, if one is logged out, FF can't find the secondary url because the user first has to go thru the signin process before its even valid.

I keep experimenting, and I have finally determined that, while there is a problem with site, what I had believed is a Keepass problem, is not so.

When I go to the site in both Edge and Google Chrome, the bar at the top of the page includes "My Account", so that you can log on before entering any purchases. The bar in Firefox does not, which has led me to believe that the account was still open from my using it yesterday.

A few minutes ago, I went to the site using Fx, and this time entered a purchase in the cart. I then went to the cart and went to the checkout page, where I was asked to either order as a guest (which I used to use), or to log on. I clicked on that, which brought up my Keepass information for the site.

In short, in Fx, it really looks as though I were still logged on from my session yesterday, which it turns out was not accurate. In one of my calls to the vendor earlier this morning, she told me that once you enter a purchase, the site logs you off, which may very well be correct. I don't recall what happened in the past when I ordered as a guest; I did not worrry about being logged off as I was never logged on. Yesterday was my first logged-on purchase; due to what I then discovered was the missing entry on the top bar; did not mean that I was not, as I thought, still logged on.

Thanks to all for the assistance. The Sturm und Drang ("storm and stress") was caused by the site not operating as I expected, namely providing a way of logging out in Fx, unlike in Edge and Google Chrome, and every other site that I have used. On top of that, during one of my phone calls earlier today, the agent said that once you place an order, if you were logged on, the site will log you off; a bit of a nuisance if you want to place another order at the same time.
