Solved How to get Windows 10 context menu back on Windows 11

I do a lot of copying and pasting and Windows 11 requires an extra step. If you want to be able to use the context menu you were used to in Windows 10, this tutorial shows how to do it. I just completed the registry entries and it does indeed work. Just make sure you back up your registry first and follow the steps exactly.
My Windows version is: 11, 21H2, Build 22000.376

Nice, but there are so many of these about now by ExplorerPatcher and Winaero Tweaker to name a couple, these are better than having to edit the Registry (in case of errors) There are also some readymade reg files around

I agree. I looked at the tutorials section, before I posted, but didn't see one that covered this particular situation. And yes, editing the registry yourself would be done only if no other methods were available. Winaero Tweaker will indeed make these changes for you and is freeware if you don't mind installing an application.

@nitewulf I prefer using Winaero as if MS changes anything meaning the tweaks won't work then Winaero are pretty quick to follow up. I can't see why anyone would not want to install a small program as a lot of them are portable

I used this from windows 11 tweaks



1 Open Windows Terminal, and select Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt.

2 Copy and paste the command below you want into Windows Terminal, and press Enter.

(Disable)
reg add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve

3 Close Windows Terminal.

If you want to Enable it again

(Enable)

reg delete "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}" /f

I use Winaero Tweaker, as well as many of the tutorials.

So do I. But for the start menu, I like to use StartisBack. It's simple. That's the only one I don't mind paying (haven't yet though) ;)
