Windows 11 Pro + Win11 Canary VM.
If like me, you find it difficult to keep behind the ear hearing aids in place (and potentially losing them) when using spectacles, I came up with a solution costing around 10 pence.

You can get various solutions (lanyards, expensive clips, sticky pads etc.

None of them were particularly useful.

So, my solution is a small O-Ring.

Works brilliantly.

Not recommended for Space Shuttle personnel though.

Just watch the colour you pick, as I cannot imagine some of those colours around my ear, if I was selecting.

As I said lanyard solutions are not that useful. They prevent aid loss but they do not keep then in situ.

The earmould aids (most NHS) are usually quite good at remaing in situ even with glasses, but the rte type aids (small dome insert) are more difficult to keep in situ, and easier to detach completely.

Thank you all for the information in this thread. It will help countless others who find their way here from Google Search.

I don't have a problem with my glasses and my aids competing for space, because my aids are molded to my ears and sit inside very securely. Just the electronics chamber sits at the outer edge of my ear canal.

I love the security, the absence of any eyeglasses problem, and the fact that I can take phone calls to my cell number through my aids. I get very funny stares when I'm talking on the phone to my wife and people can't see a device that makes that possible.

This is sorta what mine look like out of the ear.

Quite a few people have asked me whether that thing in my ear is a phone. I pull out my phone and reply, "No, THIS is a phone. THAT's my hearing aid. It talks to my phone, though." You can see their eyes glazing over. :lmao:

Even though I wear behind the ear hearing aids I haven't had a need to strap them to my glasses. Not only that but I'm constantly taking my glasses off so it would be a pain in the (I'll say ears) to me.

That makes good sense. The bands are an excellent idea for people who wear their glasses and their aids all the time and at the same time. They would have been a terrible idea for me in all the years I wore behind-the-ear aids, for the reason you cited: I was in the habit of removing and replacing (or changing) my glasses all day long, many times a day.

I wanted to go with in the in ear hearing aids but was talked out of it. They said that because I have trouble with high frequencies that the behind the ear was my best option.

Interesting. The technology involved in aids evolves at a rapid pace, of course. My aids can be controlled through an app I have on my phone, and the app has a range of settings for various situations and needs. One of my settings is "Speech Clarity," and that one sets my high frequency sensitivity to a very high level. Another that I enjoy and use Frequently is "Restaurant." That one muffles crowd noise in favour of close-by sounds, and I have little trouble understanding the person across the table from me, even in a very noisy place, like a large, busy restaurant-bar. I also use a small radio-frequency receiver-broadcaster that lets me switch my aids mikes off and hear only the sound from our TV directly, with my own choice of volume. Neat. (y) :-)
