OS
Windows 11 Home. Win Version 23H2
I have now started using Media Player as a replacement for Films & TV which I liked very much.

Could you tell me if its possible to search through all my files I added. As they are displayed now over many pages.

I uninstalled media Player. But many Windows and other apps use the key function CTRL + F keys (find). Just try it first, I can reinstall media player or someone that has it might be able to assist.

Not exactly sure how you missed it. It's permanently at the top left in every section of Media Player.

Don't sweat it, Polli

It isn't the greatest App, Polli.
I remember telling you it was an option. There has to be another one out there somewhere, excluding VLC which isn't really what you were looking for.

What I remember:

  • You want a visual Thumbnails/Previews for you video files?
  • You proffer it to be easy to navigate, not complicated?
  • You really liked the Film & TV App from Microsoft until they removed the function for local videos.

As much as the New Media Player is as close as you'll get to the look and function of Film & TV, it lacks a lot.
I notice that it doesn't exactly show all Thumbnails/Previews

I'd love to introduce you to PLEX Media Server/Player, but initially the setup is a very much harder than something like Media Player.

But the end result is outstanding. Also, it allows you to setup so you can access the content from any device and most modern TV's, using your Laptop/PC as a media server.

I don't know if I'd be the person to talk you through it.
The paid version allows you to use their forums, the free doesn't, but it does allow you to read the forum so finding answers isn't impossible.
They also allow you to view the program documentation.

Butt everything one needs to access your own Movie library is available and works. It operates in your browser like a website.

A free account is needed.

I would imagine something like this is what you would want?
Maybe a member could suggest something similar.

Thanks Guru it looks ideal but too complicated for me
Am getting really stuck ever though have had great help here. Thought Media Player was the answer.
But now I find even search doesn't find what I ask it to. Is it because I have lots and lots of videos in it?
I was so happy with Films and TV. All my files I could view on one page too
Now I have to scroll forever
I am an oldie and frustrated
Viewing my family videos and sideshows is important to me
I know you're all trying to help too.
