Thanks for your Help :
Somehow , while downloading/ installing Calibre
yahoo became my search engine in the Address bar .
I have specified chrome as default app etc. .
Also , the google chrome home page has only 1 box to enter search info .
If I enter a search in address bar it becomes "Yahoo Search - Web Search"
Pls , how can I fix this mess ?

Depends on the browser, but typically going to the browser settings and searching or looking for "search" or "search engine" will give you an option to change it.

Most likely your software install came with a PUA "potentially unwanted application" that added/modified your searching

Take a look in your installed apps and see if you have one for Yahoo search

nope , no Yahoo there ,
so I did a chrome 'reset settigs' and voila !

OOPS !
Thought I had solved , not so , only partially...
When when I click on chrome_shortcut or click on "+" to open a new google search ,
up comes a valid chrome_search page .
But when I enter a search arg (weather) & click_Enter , up comes this :

In other words , I can no longer do a google_search .
I am forced to do a Yahoo Search - Web Search

Any ideas how to fix this ?

I assume you mean Google search as your default engine in Chrome browser?

Go to Chrome > Settings > search for “search” and change the default search engine

Yes , I tried all the above .

To do a google search , my contingency measure is to create an chrome incognito shortcut , like this :
Target = "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --incognito

go to the search engine setting and add custom search engine. type

%s - Google Search

as the new one and save. see if it uses google by default after
