Hyper-V and KVM VM systems performance now really excellent for Windows Guests - Don't be scared of VMs.

Ms has certainly got something right , as well as Linux Kernel developers. Using Windows Enterprise on a VM under KVM/QEMU on kernel 6.9.x (Fedora rawhide) the speed is almost native and ripping a couple of CD's to lossless flac just takes minutes from an external USB DVD device. Similar is true using HYPER-V

Perfect rip of excellent quality---sometimes I still buy CD's -- especially for latest classical music releases. Also plays great with VLC on a phone sent to blue tooth headphones (VLC connected to remote PC via internet) or copy music to internal phone card and play to sennhauser wired pro phones via ugren usbc adapter --works on iphones too.

Cheers

One of worst changes by Amazon was you can no longer automatically store music as mp4s if you buy a cd.

You now require an Amazon music conscription to do this.

So I have had to revert to ripping cd as we always used to do back in Bedrock days.

I am not sure it really matters if you use host or vm to rip cds as bottleneck in process is probably reading the CDs. The actual conversion time is probably quite quick, and I doubt it uses much cpu resoursces.

You can't actually "buy" these.
They're just a digital design company... looking for manufacturing partners.
