Solved I-beam text Cursor

I have a new windows 11 laptop. I have gone to the settings page where you can turn off that horrible text cursor. But when I click on OFF it doesn't turn it off.

I have saved the Reg file ( it is named Unconfirmed 799153.crdownload) to my desktop but when I double click on it, it just says select an app to open the file. Help.

Hello Sue,

It sounds like your browser hasn't fully downloaded or unblocked the REG file. Check "Downloads" in your browser to see if you may need to approve first.

You can also try right clicking on the download button in the tutorial, and click on "Open link in new tab/window".

There's a current problem with Edge downloads not completing, which I assume is a bug in Edge 120:

I thought it only affected PDFs, but ...........

I opened it in a new link and it said it changed the registry but I still have the text cursor.

In that case double check in Registry Editor to see if the value was actually changed.

If it was, go ahead and post a screenshot showing this to see if it may be the same thing.

I have decided to use the smallest arrow in the mouse settings although I prefer a larger one and that gives me an text cursor that looks likes the old one in Windows 10.

I appreciate your help though.
