You're welcome,

From Intel : Intel(R) Chipset Device Software uses an unusual date for the devices it is targeting. The date 07/18/1968 is symbolic - Intel was founded that day.

So since you have Intel Chipset Drivers which are not all from this date (you have some Intel Chipset Driver from 2016 & 2018), you updated Intel Chipset Drivers from Windows Update - Optional updates (Intel Chipset Drivers from Windows Update - Optional updates must not be installed to avoid conflict issues).

Keep us informed ;)

1) Follow this process to cleanup :

- Uninstall your current Intel Chipset Drivers package and/or Intel Intel Turbo Boost Technology Drivers package if you have any installed (via Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC.
- Launch Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator) > Check the boxes with red dot :
ruhI0vt.png

- Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver" button.
- Press Windows key + X > "Device Manager" > "View" > Check "Show hidden devices" > "System devices" category.
- Uninstall Intel Turbo Boost Technology hidden device by right-click Uninstall device (if you find it) then restart your PC.

2) Install last Intel Chipset Drivers package which I linked to you above :

Okay, I followed your instructions as well as I could. I did not find any driver including IntelTurboBoostMaxTechnology in it. I'm including screen shots of what I did here so far:

Hi,

As explained previously, Intel Turbo Boost Technology is natively supported by Windows 11, but it seems to be only when Windows 11 prerequisites are meet, so with supported hardwares (which are with a motherboard BIOS that allows native Intel Turbo Boost Technology management). Since your hardwares is not supported by Windows 11 :

- Check if you have this setting in your BIOS (install the last BIOS 4001 for your motherboard if not done yet), and if so set it like that : Press F7 to switch in Advanced Mode > Advanced tab > CPU Configuration > CPU Power Management Configuration > MFC Mode Override : Switch from MFC Driver Override to OS Native Support > Press F10 to Save & Exit.

- If you don't have this setting in your BIOS, as workaround, follow this process :

- Uninstall Unknown device device by right-click Uninstall device.
- Right-click Windows Start button then click Launch then type gpedit.msc > OK.
- Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation > Device Installation Restrictions.
- Prevent installation of devices that match any of these device IDs : Enabled > Show > Add > Type ACPI\INT3510
- OK > OK > OK > Restart your PC.

Hello,

That Intel Turbo Boost Technology is natively supported by Windows 11 comes as news to me. To be perfectly honest it matters not to me that it is supported IF I were able to completely remove the device icon completely from device manager. This likely explains why it is so difficult to remove. Although my UEFI (BIOS) is running ver. 4001 I find the workaround you offer more appealing. I will try this first. Perhaps it will grant me the option of running an additional operating system that does support the X99 platform with the Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 enabled. (I'm still a big Win 7 U fan). Thanks again. I will keep you posted. (y)

I absolutely did type "ACPI\INT3510" into that slot that pops up once the "Prevent Installation.." dealio was activated. The instructions were very specific and I read the information that stated what would happen to my system as a result of selecting this choice. I'm not certain that I want to disable this in CPU Power Management as I may be using other Operating Systems that could need it. Then again, I'm not altogether sure my ver. 4001 even has MFC mode over ride. I will go look.

I'm not certain that I want to disable this in CPU Power Management as I may be using other Operating Systems that could need it. Then again, I'm not altogether sure my ver. 4001 even has MFC mode over ride. I will go look.

For information, MFC Mode Override setting does not disable Intel Turbo Boost Technology at all, it just allow to choose between Intel Turbo Boost Technology native management by the OS or Intel Turbo Boost Technology management by driver.

If you don't have this setting in your BIOS, and that the workaround previously given doesn't work, sorry I'm out of ideas about your goal to run Windows 11 on hardware not supported by Windows 11 :/

MoKiChU, I sincerely thank you for making a dedicated effort to help me with this issue. Microsoft has already let up on much of its mandatory TPM2 policies and I'm guessing it will only be a matter of time before it will be possible to install Win 11 on a TPM 1.2 platform with their approval. If not there is still Linux and Win 7. I have a few ideas left to try out but they all involve intense surgery resulting in a not quite authentic Win 11 OS. You have been tremendously helpful and this has been quite a learning experience for an old goat like myself. Thanks again for your patience and thank you for putting up with me.

UPDATE

I have some good news and some not-so-good news. Good news first: My IRST end of it has been fixed. I can now access the GUI for my Intel RAID arrays once more. All that friendly green text on a black background makes my day. In that regard it's all systems go. Alas, after following MoKiChU instructions explicitly I have not been able to eliminate the driver issue although it doesn't seem to be affecting performance in any way. I suppose it is just an annoying bang that I'll have to put up with until Intel deals with it (or doesn't). I can't find any "compatibility mode" to work through this and yes, I already know the X99 platform was not designed for Windows 11. It does appear to work well, however, despite a few nasty little buggaboos.

I'm a bit late in the day appreciated, but I thought I'd just add in my two-penn'orth (UK)
I have x2 X99 boards and share Scannerman's frustrations re:MS to a degree
I've found this thread coz I'm still getting some ACPI warnings in Event Viewer but generally, all is good with Windows 11 running on both boards
The way I solved it (and particularly the built-in turbo cr*p) is I invested in x2 'Xeon E5-2699 v4' which cost me all of under £300 GBP for the pair
I've never been big on buying used gear but these I got from a bona-fide server outlet with 3 years replacement warranties - I'm sure you'll have something similar over there...
Thing is with server gear, it's unlikely to have ever been cooked and these 22 core CPUs are amazing running at stock - obviously dependent upon what you want them for
Just to be clear, the built-in Turbo is only recognised with 'i' (3,5,7...) CPUs and not with Xeons fitted

Thanks to all contributers - it's been interesting reading and good to not feel so alone!
Kudos to MoKiChU

I commend you on your creative approach. My system includes an i7 6900K CPU so I'm not prepared to sacrifice it for a Xeon while I still have the advantages of overclocking and caching that a Xeon won't give me. I've since learned to put up with the warning since it is the only ACPI warning I have and because my CPU is already over clocked I don't need the built in Turbo option. I'm keeping it as a trophy and a testament to humility. I can always boot back to Windows 7 and gloat at my "perfect" score. IMO Windows 7 is vastly superior to Windows 11 anyway and who knows? I might even catch a break with Windows 12.
