I have Lost The Attachment After Replying

I replied to an email I received that had an attachment -PDF doc now when I replied that PDF has disappeared.

I tried to follow the steps here Redirecting
But I am lost as nothing seems to work . I can see the paperclip in the preview to show there is an attachment but when I open the email it's no longer there.

This has been an ongoing issue in Oulook 365 for a while. Did you try every suggestion in that 3 page MS Outlook thread. Some worked for some people, others worked for others. Others found no solution. Those folks in that forum deal with Outlook 365 and nothing else so if they don't know of a permanent solution, I doubt anyone will. It's my habit to always save any attactment I want to keep as soon as I open it. You may well save yourself a lot of time to ask the sender to send the attachment again if it's important to you.

just a suggestion that you may have already tried.
have you tried downloading the attachment instead of trying to open the attachment.

And how do I do that? All I see is a paperclip, click on the paperclip, the same email opens with no attachment..

I have even tried a program called "Outlook Attach View" and I cannot find this attachment.

View/Extract Outlook Attachment from command-line or GUI

Scan all messages stored in your Outlook, display them, and allows you to extract all attachments that you need at once.

Ummm, a paperclip represents the attachment, the attachment doesn't always have to show up in graphic detail. What happens when you click on the paper clip?

To test : Forward the email to yourself. Does the newly received email appear with an attachment (paper clip)?

I said in previous post to yours click on the paperclip, the same email opens with no attachment..

I have forwarded the email to myself , I still can't see the attachment in Outlook but I can see it in Yahoo mail app on my phone "TOWL01.pdf" but when I try to download I get a network error message.

Can you access your email account through a web browser? How's the attachment appear there?

And/Or you could install Thunderbird and/or eMClient email clients, and test your emails in either/both those.

I tried Yahoo mail "basic mail" web browser there was no attachment there. Just the paperclip indicating an attachment , open it (click on the paperclip) it just opens the email again. Will try thunderbird and eMClient.

That seems to indicate some error or corruption in the sent (forwarded) email

If the forwarded email is corrupted, Thunderbird/eMClient are not going to make any difference. The best option would be to re-forward the original email (attachment intact), perhaps not even using Outlook to do this

Not sure whether it still exists but xx number of versions ago, Outlook was renowned for it's over-protection of emails by stripping attachments it didn't like. Fix was to create a registry entry for particular extension types to force Outlook to allow them. But may have nothing to do with your situation ....

Yes I have done that , using Yahoo mail on my phone, it doesn't work. , also Thunderbird too.

if you replied to the email there should be a copy in the sent folder or the drafts folder.
its worth having a look otherwise you may have to get whoever sent the email to resend it with the PDF.

also as a thought it maybe worthwhile checking your download folder as a copy might be there.

Negative to the sent or drafts folder
Negative to the "downloads" folder

It appears to be a common problem with MS Outlook from my research
It's not practical to get the sender to send me the attachment again.
It's not that important, I have the email (text) component. It was just a Tax Invoice.
