Solved I installed visual studio 2022, then installed visual studio 2015 but vs 2015 not appears in installed programs?

Every link for VS2008 I have tried is a fail.
I tried that a few weeks ago and tried it again during this thread.
Besides I found one MS site showed the price of $799 for purchase.
FAIL unless anyone has a working download link to a functioning 2008.

Don't tell people answers that really end with no resolution. That is not a solution.

Like telling someone they need gas in their car, just go and get it, and all the gas stations are closed.
I don't do that to people.
If I know how a real working solution I tell and show them in all my threads.

Well I just left as default the install and it does not like mssql 2005

To install mount the iso, go into directory for VBexpress and run setup



and it succesfully installed very fast too. Not like VS2015 which takes 45 minutes.

102 errors interesting how things changed so much from vb6.
I can get some of these as some forms I did not use 'option explicit', I thing some of the warnings are about that.

I got rid of vs2015.
Now on vs2008, help links written into the coding have functional hyperlinks, as in control- click takes you the help support for that particular line of code

I also found you can save a vb6 project after conversion and then open it in vs2022.

In vs2022, those same kinds of links, nothing, it does not load an associated hyperlinked web help page.
Anyone know why that is so?

So I know vs2022 is more modern, but this important help function is not working.

example, control click shows a hand icon pointing to the hyperlink , clicks do nothing.

I marked resolved as even though windows said not installed and REVO said not installed, I found a link to modify in the apps section for vs2015 and ran it and then selected uninstall.

I am glad vs2015 is gone off my system.

for some reason it again took a long time to uninstall and freed up 6gb.
The IDE was extremely laggy, as in type in some code and it took several seconds to appear.

VS2022 does not do any of that. in that sense it is better, but without linking help on the web, well, they dd not design it that way, but it is what it is for reasons unknown.

Another conundrum just noticed.
After uninstall of vs 2015. vs 2022 can no longer load the converted vb6 program

somehow the uninstall vs 2015 affected the functioning of vs 2022

I am about to uninstall vs 2022 also. maybe reinstall it as maybe remove of vs 2015 screwed up something for vs 2022.

And I am just guessing. Not much here in this thread makes much sense to me either.

And just noticed it also can no longer open in vs 2008
Although it can still open the original vb6 project file and do another conversion.
Something was either corrupted or deleted when vs 2015 got uninstalled I think.
