Please tell me why my screen will not open fully? I've tried sliding it with the cursor arrows and I even tried system restore. My example shows this forum home screen but every site I open is the same. F11 works but once the page is closed, the problem still exists. This problem is hard to explain, even a normal screen shot doesn't seem to work.

It looks like the window is partially off-screen. Are you able to drag it from the top back on-screen, and/or drag the borders to resize it?

If you click anywhere in the Windows title bar (the top) so it's got focus you can press and hold win key + alt + any arrow key and the window will automatically dock in view to your screen.

I've tried that, no results. It seems that I did a mouse over at the top of the window that caused this problem?

Do you mean you are unable to manually drag the window or its borders?

Grab the left side of the browser window and drag it to the right about halfway.
Then grab the whole browser window and drag it to the left.
You might have to grab and drag the top of the browser windows down, about halfway also.

Now you should be able to get to the minimize, the shrink and the "X" buttons.


If you have any screen or browser magnification turned ON... turn it OFF first.



Short version...

You have to "manually" shrink the browser window so ALL of it is visible.
Then you can adjust how you like.


Then... get a screen like one of these... :-)

Your browser appears to have lost track of the size and edges of the screen. Try changing your display resolution to something smaller while the browser window is open, then change it back to your preferred resolution. This should reset the browser's size/position and bring it back normal operation.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Thanks to Brink, he solved my issue with pointing to the tutorial above.
The Alt>Spacebar>M and using the up, down, side to side arrows worked great.
