I don't want their game pass. I don't need to know what products I've purchased. Just let me enjoy my new computer without being hammered with propaganda for shiny happy wonderful Microsoft making my life a bed of roses. Compris?

I don’t know why this would bother you. Do you spend hours a day staring at the Accounts section of the settings app? Like most things in Windows, it can simply be ignored.
Try Winaero Tweaker, it has options but I can’t say they all still work. Also, I haven’t looked in detail lately so I can’t remember what’s available in Winaero, or in Tutorials on this site.

To turn off PC Game Pass ads in Windows, disable "Get tips and suggestions" in Settings > System > Notifications, and turn off "Show me suggested content" under Privacy & Security. Additionally, toggle off "Suggested" in the notification list to stop pop-ups.

Get tips and suggestions was already disabled in Notifications and I still see PC Game Pass on my Accounts page in settings, so...

If you have MS Wintoys or Winareo Tweaker, both very handy little utility apps they both make it easy to disable most of the unwanted ads and nags throughout the OS although you may still have MS 365 and OneDrive nags on the Settings Home screen and little Start Menu sign out window at your user profile.

Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions. I tried a couple suggestions and they didn't work in my case. So I am going to chill out and learn to do what @antspants said and simply ignore it. Cheers...

What worked for me was this setting. Got rid of the pesky Microsoft 365 Family ad on the accounts page.

I went with the Winareo Tweaker route seen in post #8 and seen neither hide nor a hair of an ad ever since.

Visual pollution be gone!

And it's easy peasy to do.

Haha yeah, the amount of “suggestions” Windows throws at you on a fresh install is kinda wild. Feels less like setting up a PC and more like closing pop-ups for 20 minutes. First thing I usually do on a new machine is go through settings and start turning all that stuff off recommendations, tips, ads in the start menu, all of it. Way calmer after that

I'm not getting any ads but out of curiosity I checked the setting you posted. To my surprise the only option that was turned off was the Do not disturb option. I'm tempted to turn the options off but I don't what to jinx myself. Like they say, If ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'm using a MS Account and not getting ads. The only things I can think of off the top of my head that might have stopped ads is maybe when a ad first appeared there was an option to turn them off or it's a default setting in SAB. SAB is the only tweaking program I use. And then only to move the Taskbar to the top.

A local account can spare you sooo much needless grief and nonsense. Is it any wonder MS is trying to eliminate it?

I don't have a problem being signed in to my MS account. I feel that any data they want to collect from me is going to get collected if signed in or not. As for 365, I mostly use it for the OneDrive storage and I'm sharing it with my son.

FWIW I downloaded the Winaero Tweaker tool, unzipped it and opened the folder and read the lengthy text from a month ago about all the difficult workarounds to try to get Defender to not block Tweaker from running, and decided that to try to install and run this tool would give me more grief than simply putting up with the annoying ads and suggestions that Windows likes to throw in my face. I'm not going down that rabbit hole, nosirree...

FYI, the latest new build of Winareo Tweaker doesn't have the Windows Defender compatibility issues. It's smooth and efficient

Presumably the version I downloaded this morning is the latest version, and inside the folder for the exe file was the warning text I shared. I am not sure if I can trust that it will run smoothly and efficiently, or that if it does that the next update of Windows won't find a way to thwart and block its intended operations. Is it worth the risk or the bother?
