Regrettably, you have fallen for the common myth that chicken soup is a cure all.

It is only true if the soup is home made with recipe by Grandma. Worse, not any Grandma recipe but your OWN Grandma's recipe.

This can be a problem depending on age, and you may need to use a ouija board to get the recipe☹️.

Actually pneumonia is really just an umbrella generic term that describes the severity and symptoms of various types of lung infection.

The infection can be viral, bacteriological or even fungal.

Majority of "pneumonia" infections are viral and usually clear up by bodies own defence coupled with appropriate vaccine jabs.

Bacteriological pneumonia type infections are usually much more severe. Here antibiotics would help more provided infection is not antibiotic resistant.

Of course, not all viral infections or bacteriological infections are classified as pneumonia.

In the end, the term is pretty meaningless without context.
