Solved Inquiry on dban (dariks boot and nuke)

If you need the latest ( also with SSD support) use nwipe, which is essentially DBAN/blancco but it's still maintained and is part of mainline Linux distributions. Everything is the same except it's updated to support latest hardware.

If you need a bootable thumbdrive, then use ShredOS, which always contains latest nwipe software.

You think i can try run that to test it out despite already ran dban? Or will it not make any sense to do that

If you have already used one application to wipe the disk, it shouldn't make any difference running another one. You may do it if it makes you feel safer, but I don't think it will make any difference. Unless you run one that provides a certificate and you want to show it to the buyer.

The gap shouldn't contain any personal data, but sometimes it does. Those who are concerned can open an elevated command prompt and run:

diskpart
lis dis (figure out the disk number of the disk you want to wipe)
sel dis n (where n is the disk number of the disk you want to wipe)
clean
create partition primary
format fs=ntfs quick
assign letter X (where X is the drive letter you want to assign to it)
exit
cipher /w:X (where X is the drive letter that you have assigned)

I'm sure It wouldn't hurt, but I think it would be overkill after you already used DBAN on it successfully.

It's not the explanation of how TRIM works to erase data, TRIM marks the invalid data and tells the SSD to ignore it during the garbage collection process.

TRIM only marks blocks to be free for writing. Its purpose is to save on wear and tear and improve speed on the SSD. No data will actually be overwritten. The issue with SSDs is that the bits and bobs dont last so many write cycles, and it is also slow to completely erase data securely, this is why TRIM was implemented.

Securely wiping an SSD is a bit complicated. One good method is to change the encryption key in the firmware if the drive has that feature. No data can ever be retrieved after that unless it is a drive that always uses a common encryption key because the thief could always write that key back if they know it.

No need. If you already ran DBAN, then you are good to go. All the newer software uses same algorithms and only fix bugs and add more compabitility for newer hardware.

As a matter of true fact, TRIM marks pages as invalid, or stale to indicate that the SSD is permitted [by the OS or, to be more specific, by the filesystem that the OS uses] to erase them. In NAND flash memory, individual pages cannot be erased. Only blocks can be, and, each block consists of multiple pages.

As a consequence, a stale page cannot be erased unless none of the other pages in the same block contain valid data. After the block is erased, all stale pages in the block will be free for writing, and (for reasons that should be completely obvious) pages that already were free for writing will remain free for writing so, the end result will be that all pages in the block will be free for writing.

However, erasing a block causes wear on all cells in all pages in the block, and the observation that some pages in the block might already be free for writing prior to erasing the block doesn't change this fact. So, instead of erasing the blocks immediately as soon as possible, SSDs use ways to actually try to avoid that—for this this and various other reasons.

The bottom line is that neither the user nor the OS has any control over these internal mechanisms that are typifying of modern SSD technology.

These are just a few basic facts. It certainly doesn't take a lot of brain cells to figure this out.

All of this knowledge isn't necessary. If the OP is not feeling safe to give away his old computer with the original disk, he can keep the disk and install Windows in another disk or just give it without disk. It cannot get simpler than that.
