Now all I need is a SATA port card. My mobo only has 4x SATA III ports. :/
My PSU now... that sucker can run 2 or 3 computers worth of drives.

And despite what this pic shows... each SATA power cable has 4x SATA power connectors.
One cable has ONLY an optical drive on it. The other has one SSD and 2x HDDs on it.

All I would need is three more SATA ports. So a four banger would do it.
I need to think some more about this. My mobo has two unused M.2 ports, and a U.2 port as well.

I have 2x 2.5" SSDs, one has Win 10, the other has Win11. I have 2x storage HDDs, and one Optical drive.
That's 5 drives, and only 4x SATA III ports.

Power supply is the easiest part. You can always get one of those splitters.

I got 8x SATA power connectors. That's not a problem.
To have everything hooked up like I want... I just need one more SATA III data port.

Then I would have...

Before I found out about this tool-less SSD trays, I was using HDD power switch if I want to switch between drives. But they only work until you restart the PC. All switches turns on after a restart.

Naw that's a power switch. I need a data switch.
I could make one if I could just find a... 22 pole, double throw switch. :D
Or for just data, a 7 pole, double throw switch.

Back then, the only important thing is to make sure that only one drive is powered on when downloading an update to avoid boot up problem.

I found one. 8 pole double throw, toggle switch... I only need 7 pole, so it will work. :D
It needs to be an ON-ON switch, but I'm sure they would have one of them.

And just wiring up the bottom slot. Use the top slot for storing the other SSD.
Just turn the comp off, put whichever SSD I want... (Win 11 or Win 10), in the bottom slot, and booting up the comp.

Exactly what I've been doing for the past several years on my secondary computer.
But for my main rig, since it doesn't have expansion bay in front..

Windows 11 Insider OS is running on a SATA tail I installed hanging in the back of the case so I don't have to open the case in case I need to detach it. :lmao:

That's what I've been doing. Left side of case off, switch cables, to go from Win 10 to Win 11.
Gettin' to be a pain.

I know there's easier ways to arrange things, but I need the optical drive for the old games.
The 8TB is a copy of the 4TB. So if either fails, I don't lose everything.
Way too much stuff to make backups.
Anyway, that 5.25" bay thing will make everything a lot easier, and no messing with the BCD.
