Internet connection only in browser

Our home wi-fi had a problem and a technician came and fixed it. After this, my pc has internet connection (i use ethernet) and i can use the browser normally but only some sites don't load or work for me. And my apps and games don't connect to the internet.
Please help

Can you explain what this technician did. He didn't fix it if you still do not have full internet access..Do you have the same problem on your wifi devices as you do on the PC?

If it's only your PC, here are my suggestions. Try them and report back.

1. Powercycle your router.

2. Run network troubleshooter. Settings>System>troubleshoot>other troubleshooters>Network & Internet>-RUN

3. Reset your network adapters, then restart. Reset Network Adapters in Windows 11 Tutorial

My computer tells me i have internet connection and i can use the browser

Answer me this. Are you a minor? If so ask your parents about their parental controls and any limitations they have put on your user account..

They haven't put anything on it i know

So you ARE a minor. Sorry, young man(lady) See, we have no way of knowing if your parents have set up parental controls, but it certainly sounds to me like they have since all other devices in your home have no problem. If there are parental controls, there's nothing we can advice that would help. What I suggest you do is talk to them.
If they haven't set restrictions it would be up to them to get that repair man back to fix the problem or they would have to troubleshoot the issue themselves using an administrative account that you would not have access to..

You're more than welcome but I didn't do anything. I'm sure you have good parents who love you so if they have set up parental controls, they're trying to protect you. Always talk to them. They will explain their decisions. Maybe you can work something out so you can play your games some of the time or play other games that are installable without the need of internet..

What I'm gathering is that there was a problem with wifi and your parents had a technician out to fix it. Although things have improved, they're still not up to par. Further, your parents haven't put any restrictions on your access.

In @glasskuter's post #6, she is right . . . it's up to your parents to get the repairman to come back and "finish the job". In other words, it looks like they've paid for a job that wasn't done correctly. And, since we don't know exactly what the problem is/was, or what the technician did, there's not much we can do to help.

For glasskuter and those who may understand more about ethernet and wifi than I do, can you tell us which apps and games don't connect to the Internet? That may be enough to get someone started. Also, ask your parents what the tech did . . . that could help too.

OK, I get it. You say they put no restrictions on you. That be the case, your user account should be an administrator. Is it? If so, then try the suggestions I gave at the beginning.

IF you're not an administrator there's nothing you can do. This issue can be caused by restrictions at the computer level, restrictions at the router (network)level, or an actual problem with windows which requires an administrator level account to troubleshoot.

If your computer did not have any problems accessing any sites until a technician worked on the network, but started having the problem after he worked on the network, that would be the first direction I would start troubleshooting. After performing suggestions in post #2, it would be a process of elimination to find the root of the problem; such as testing while connected wirelessly instead of wired and connecting another device using ethernet cable to the router to see if that device has the same problem..
But if you're not an administrator, forget it. Ask your parents.
