iphone photo colors faded

Hello, I haven't detected this in the past, but I am now seeing my iphone pictures downloaded to my desktop have lost the brightness of the colors. I'm quite sure this is a new problem, because I take many floral photos and they have always transferred over as seen on my phone. Any ideas?

Actually, I looked back a few years at a specific flowering plant that I take a picture of annually. Those photos are also faded by comparison to camera. This is disappointing. I wonder if the windows updates have affected the quality retroactively.

Was the video card driver updated? If it was you may have to try adjusting the display settings.

How have you calibrated your Phone screen and your Desktop screen ?

Apple calibrates screens differently to MS Windows on Laptops and PCs, defaults are different etc.

Phone screens are generally OLED glossy resulting in brighter colours, PC screens could one of many variations e.g. IPS semi-matt(anti glare) displays are duller colours but benefit from less irritating reflections.

Have you recently changed the "color space" on your monitor to aRBG, or something like that?

Most likely HDR is enabled. Try disabling it. A friend of mine has a dual nVidia GeForce 1080 Ti setup connected to a big TV via HDMI. I tried to enable HDR for games, but everything else appeared faded (washed out colors) due to bad HDR implementation by the graphics drivers. Recently he did not had this issue, so you obviously need to update your graphics drivers as others suggested, but it is easier to just disable HDR and see if your issue is resolved.
