In my opinion Banksy is a vandal painting pictures where he should not as witnessed by councils having to remove them (at local taxpayer cost).

He relishes posting images on his website where he gets income of course.

He should be prosecuted as a vandal and his site banned.

It is time the decent majority stopped seeing him as an anti-hero and see him as the parasitic vandal he is.

I rather doubt he actually does the paintings - I think he pays people to do it for him.

I am sick of hearing about the no mark.

Not in my opinion, he is just a modern artist and his work is very valued and thought after, some of his work on other media than walls sells for millions of dollars. He is not your average prankster and his work is simple and tasteful while addressing social problems. His art is subdued and never offensive

If they caught Banksy in the act, I’d suspect they would be treated as anyone else is. It’s not like the police surround Banksy and lock arms to protect if seen “vandalising” a brick wall. But they don’t see Banksy and Banksy doesn’t get caught.
I’ve heard a few mentions of some property that Banksy has painted on, where the council have removed the work and auctioned it off, adding quite a pretty pay packet to the local coffers.
There is a message, as Mike mentions. A call for social change. if one was to actually look.
But sure… “those pesky kids 🤬”

(I edited my post because there is nothing to say, no proof that Banksy is actually a man)

99% of "Street Furniture", "Street Art" (you can't call it graffiti any more), poor road signage - the British sign for "Speed Camera" for example is an old type hand wound on Film Camera that I doubt anybody under about 55 has ever even heard of --far less used or even has ever seen shouldn't be given public / taxpayer funds.

UK Speed Camera road sign !!!! (Laughable isn't it). Some have the text -- other just the pic. I believe they can't be called "Speed Cameras" any more but "Police Enforcement Cameras"!!!! --99% of them probably as elsewhere on the planet are just "Cash Cows" contributing very little to Road safety or better driving.

Mind you "There's always a Market for everything" .
