Not true. . Now if you have a bad power strip or surge protector, then yeah, you're taking a risk, but other than that, it's perfectly safe.

I bring the computer out of the “sleep” state by pressing the “Power” button on the computer. But it is not clear where it is written about it.
"POWERCFG -DEVICEQUERY wake_armed doesn't show it.

My PCs all have good parts. I'm not worried. . PLUS, if something like that were to happen, i have breakers that will trip (and i will hear them, because the breaker box is above my bed). . .

Our Win10 desktop has not been powered off since the summer of 2021 (other than for the rare cold boot). Our new Win11 laptop has been logged off but not powered on since we purchased in August. The desktop is powered thru a UPS.

Yes. My uptime is currently 87 days, with sleep being used overnight for that entire period.

I put mine to S3 sleep every night, it typically gets rebooted when an update comes along. Don't remember the last time I actually left it fully powered off.

My desktop and laptop are powered up 24/7. The desktop hasn't been powered down in, well, I can't recall when.

I'm also in the let 'em sleep camp. I like opening up my computer and all my work is exactly where I last left it. I do occasional Restarts, but I never power down.
