Issue with MCTs creating a bootable USB drive

Windows 11 Pro 26H2 (Build 26300.9539)
I downloaded the new MCTs - Build(26200.9445) - and tried to create a bootable USB drive using them.

The drive boots OK, but it does not appear to contain any drivers.

Does it matter that I am trying to create a 25H2 bootable USB on my 26H2 system? Or is there some other issue?

My theory is that MS is adding fewer drivers to the ISO. My recent install had no WiFi, but I was able to use Ethernet to download drivers from the manufacturer. My laptop has no Ethernet, so I used an Ethernet-to-USB adapter.

Yes, thanks for that. It's not in my Dell Divers, but the common or basic ones.

I'm going to do a clean install on my Acemagic knowing it will be short of three drivers including wifi. Then I will do an upgrade install to see if Dynamic Update can find them.

I recommend to do it old school, that is don't rely on Windows built-in drivers or even Windows Update, visit the computer or motherboard support site and manually download all the drivers, even those you think they are not needed. After installation I would disconnect from the Internet so Windows won't try to install any random drivers, and I would manually install all the downloaded official drivers starting from the chipset (aka platform) drivers because every other device depends on it. Also it is not a bad idea to create a folder C:\DRIVERS and keep all the drivers there, you never know.

    Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, no SSE4.2, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.

Even better to keep them on an external drive as well, or in the cloud.
