I am trying to install Windows Terminal using winget or store but to no avail.

Using winget I get
Installer failed with exit code: 0x80070002 : The system cannot find the file specified.

Using the store, I can install. It says installed but when I reboot, its gone.

I have done SFC scan > DISM scan > SFC scan but its still a no go.

Any help is much appreciated.

I run update and install other software using winget with no issue.

I guess I am confused and need clarification.
If I open powershell settings, which I have installed using winget, I can see that I am using terminal. see screenshot.
I can confirm that terminal is not installed from store or Winget. Checking the software panel, I do not see terminal app installed.
Can someone clarify ?

Tiny question: Have you looked in your WinX menu (right-click on Start) for Terminal? It comes with Windows, and it should be there twice: one entry is Admin; the other just user. If it's there, it doesn't have to be in your Installed Apps list. Oh, and unless you're constantly using Terminal, you don't need to have it set to launch when Windows starts up.

to recap. I cannot use winget to install terminal anymore due to the error posted above.
When installed through the store I am getting the error posted in the second post.
I am very confused. How such a lambda action can evade me..
Everything else is working as expected. No issue to report through DSIM or SFC.

What throws me off, I used Terminal all the time before. Now it for some unknows reasons it seems to be out of reach.

I'm thinking about your screenshot above, that shows Terminal set to run at boot of Windows.

Would you open Task Manager and see whether in the Processes panel, under Apps, you have Terminal running?

Thank you guys for your reply.
1. Removed Terminal with
Code:
Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online -PackageName Microsoft.WindowsTerminal_3001.16.10262.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe
2. Installed Terminal with Winget --> Success this time
3. Defined Terminal to open on boot with admin rights.
4. Reboot.
5. Terminal does not open at all.
6. Task manager shows Terminal Process
7. End task is not possible: "Operation Not Permitted"
8. Error message: "The group or ressource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation" after trying to End Task "Terminal". After that error message, Terminal will not open regardless of what I do !!
9. Looking for the app Terminal everywhere (Programs & Features) and the app is not there. Does not seem to be installed. Opening PowerShell settings show me that the app is indeed installed. This is confusing as hell !!
10. Using soft "Uninstalledview" looking for Terminal App. It is not there. Its like it was never installed even though the install in step 2 was successful.

Any other ideas ?

Found Terminal App.
Tried to delete it once again with
Code:
Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online -PackageName Microsoft.WindowsTerminal_1.16.10261.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
got --> Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage: Unspecified error

## A couple of min later.

Manage to delete the app again with powershell cli.
Installed the app again using winget : Ok
Rebooted and manually started the app. No issue.
As soon as I set start on boot with admin privileges, this is when ll the issues above start. I used to be able to start Terminal App on boot with admin rights with no issue prior to latest Win11 update.

Any ideas ?

Just out of curiosity, have you tried using chocolatey or NuGet?
