Yes we can control most fans in the BIOS. Yes we can control the GPU fans with something like MSI Afterburner.
BUT, with Fan Control you can control ALL the PWM fans.

Here's Jay with a description and mini tutorial...






Note: Persoanlly I only want to run all my case fans at 100% and my CPU fans at a constant 83%, so I plan to just use the BIOS.
Your needs may and probably do, differ. So I thought I'd post about Fan Control.

I just use the BIOS to control case fans. And Corsair's iCUE software to control the AIO fans.

All fans run just low enough to keep noise down as I run an audiophile system from my desktop. The only time the system gets loud is when the GPU fans ramp up during gaming. My room averages 75F year-round, and I don't overclock, so this is perfect. PC is whisper quiet unless gaming.

Have to say that's a nice program. Gigabyte's Smart Fan in the BIOS also has a lot of those features sans mix, and obviously no GPU control.

That said, since I "set and forget" my fans via their appropriate controls, I don't see a need for it. I'm just not looking to add another piece of third-party software that does what my motherboard and other pieces of software does. Maybe not as easy and with lots of bells and whistles, but I'm good. That said, I will recommend it for those looking for such a piece of software. Maybe even download a copy just to have.

My only concern with this program is that developer has just added a UI wrapper over a third-party driver which they do not maintain themselves. If there is any bugs with that driver, then you may be waiting for some time before they get fixed.

I am not the main developer for the driver/backend portion of this software. Fan Control is basically a UI on top of existing hardware libraries. Any issue regarding hardware compatibility entirely depends on the following projects.
