Solved Kaspersky Total Renewal Questions?

Defender is fine; if you want to add some extra protection, maybe add Malwarebytes Pro into the mix or/and change your DNS provider to a malware-blocking one such as Quad9 or Cloudflares 1.1.1.2/1.0.0.2
Cloudfare 1.1.1.1 for families or Cloudfare encrypted service?

Perhaps I've mis-understood something here --= but if in jurisdiction "A" renewal costs €120 or whatever and in jurisdiction "B" you can buy a new one for €20 why not just cancel the renewal and buy the new one.

As for credit cards when travelling -- I've never had any problems with using these for years.

(Note I'm not making any comments on whether the product is worth buying in the first place - everybody has their own views on Windows security so I'm not going there).

Cheers

I ordered it last time on amazon but now it's much more expensive. So want to know how important is kaspersky total. Again, I'm concerned microsoft defender isn't good enough in case I click on a link or email with malware or keylogger or virus etc. I don't visit sketchy sites on my laptop but want an anti virus just in case which is why I used kaspersky total for a while already.

Kaspersky Total isn't important and choosing Russian software is a bold decision. Defender is fine and I've never had any malware just using Defender. You can use the Configure Defender utility to manage some of the more obscure features of Defender for added security

Kaspersky could easily fall under Putin's control because many rich oligarchs have had their businesses taken away.
What do you mean
"could easily fall under Putin's control" that's a given isn't it? I was with Kaspersky many years ago. No way I'd trust any Russian enterprises ATM not while Putin is in complete control. Feel really sorry for those people under such a disgusting regime

The reason why I ask this is because a while back I clicked on a link and it opened a website that may or may not have malware. I ended up checking with microsoft defender and it showed a ton of threats. I then removed or quarantined it but not sure if I got rid of it or not because every once in a while when I did a full scan on microsoft defender, it would show over 10,000 threats. But I believe this is a glitch right? The thing is because of this, I ended up formatting the laptop because I was concerned of malware on it. I then bought kaspersky total and installed it just to feel safer.

So what are your thoughts on that? The thing is shouldn't kaspersky total be much better? Again if you accidentally clicked on a link or opened a website by accident and it showed threats with your microsoft defender scan, shouldn't there be a lot of concern? Again I don't visit sketchy sites but somethings by accident I might click a link or open a website. The thing is I'm not sure if kaspersky would protect you the moment you visit a dangerous site? I believe it does so more and better than microsoft defender? Like imagine you clicked on a link on youtube by mistake in the comment section and now you not sure if you have malware or not. Wouldn't it be better having kaspersky total though?

So what are your thoughts on that?
As previously suggested and this is ONLY my opinion because of the current political climate in Russia.

VPN companies are plentiful and vary in prices. NordVPN who also work in collaboration with Surfshark I believe are based in Europe Netherlanders I think. Why you would want Kaspersky is your choice obviously.

A good VPN should never allow access to ANY Malware sites (in theory). Coupled with a good AntiVirus App one would think you would be OK.
I used Symantec Endpoint for a very long time with great success, I am currently just trying Windows Security which actually hasn't allowed anything through so far. and I have a clean machine according to that. If you want to double check what's on your system, download Malwarebytes FREE trial and do a FULL scan of your PC. Never hurts to double check. But if you're asking would I personally use Kaspersky VPN, I would have to say no.

If you are currently using Kaspersky test it with DNS Test Leak (DNS leak test) and (Browserleaks - Check your browser for privacy leaks).
That will tell you something.

Have a great Day and good luck
Bubba :-)

I do not use a VPN on my windows 11 pro laptop. I am not sure why VPN is mentioned here?

I want to make sure my laptop is secure and protect against any malware and virus or keylogger if I accidentally say click on a link or enter a wrong website or something like that.

Will kaspersky total protect better than defender? The answer is definitely yes right since I recall some tests were done online where they say kaspersky total found more things than defender?

Does anyone know where to buy kaspersky total for cheaper? Amazon has it but it cost over 50 dollars. The last time I got it was on sale for under $25.

Someone mentioned certain sites you can buy subscription code for cheaper but are those okay to use?

How big is the difference between kaspersky total vs defender? I previously used defender back then but then been using kaspersky total for 2 years. But now it cost more because there isn't a sale on amazon.

Save your money and use Defender for $0

Well right now I'm going to just use defender since Kaspersky Total isn't on sale. I am planning to buy Kaspersky Total again if it comes on sale again.

But isn't there a big difference between Kaspersky Total and defender though? I heard defender is better now than a while back but what extra protection does Kaspersky Total give that defender doesn't have? If you don't visit sketchy websites, you are obviously safe with defender. But what if you accidentally clicked on a link or picture that might have malware, keylogger or virus? Will Kaspersky Total protect you more or not? What if you download a file that might be malware but you didn't know it was? Is defender going to do enough though if you open it? Or it doesn't matter even if you have Kaspersky Total?

I love your faith in Russian software which is a bold buying decision.
