Insider KB5007262 Windows 11 Insider Preview Beta and Release Preview Build 22000.348 - Nov. 19

  • Staff
UPDATE 1/14:

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 22000.348 (KB5007262) to Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview Channels.

This update includes all the improvements previously noted here plus this additional fix:
  • We fixed a known issue that might prevent apps, such as Kaspersky apps, from opening after you attempt to repair or update the apps using the Microsoft Installer (MSI).
  • [ADDED 11/29] We fixed an issue that prevents a virtual private network (VPN) tunnel from connecting. The error message is, “The Modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or not configured properly”.
Thanks,
The Windows Insider Program Team

Is this update only offered if you've installed the .346 build?
No, as it says... it includes 346 so it means even if you installed .71, it would still offer you .348 without having to install anything in between.

A quick PSA:
If anyone wants to get out of either BETA or Preview testing, and go to Current version, now is a good time to do it, before the next update.
I just wen into updates and set it to switch back, thinking it'll do it in the future, but after I rebooted, I was out again:wink:

That's because all three versions(Current, Beta, Preview) are all at 22000.348 at the moment.

I had that same question. My recent thread here sought an answer for the issue: can the content of an update change without the update’s number changing? The answer appears to be Yes. Thus, there can be two offered updates on two different dates with exactly the same number, but resulting in two different builds.

The inmates are running the asylum.

It is not unusual for an Insider beta/rp build to be revised and still use the same KB number. Usually it means something had to be changed or added (in this case a Kaspersky fix) following beta testing that warranted a change before going to windows update release but no change in KB number

Yes, all my non-insider installs of Windows 11 offered it as an optional update...

...which I then installed.

When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
