Because the update is only for 21H2* - 22000 series (AFAIK Updates for later series aren't yet available via the Update Catalog)

Because the update is only for 22H1

There is no 22H1. There will be no more --H1's.
Non-Insiders are currently on 21H2, and the next Feature Update will be 22H2. Then 23H2, etc.
Insiders, are already on 22H2. The non-Insiders will get the 22H2 Feature Update... Sept. 20, I believe.

Microsoft has decided to skip the Feature Updates in the first half of the year (--H1), from now on.

If you mean clicking the BLUE or PURPLE icons... I didn't even know it existed till @Brink explained it to me. ;-)
It works on TenForums as well.

I like to think of them as hidden, forum "easter eggs". Just hiding in various places to make forum life easier.

My favorite easter egg of all time was the one in the old Spybot Search & Destroy program.
It was a hidden game of "Knight's Tour".

Spybot Easter Egg.png

You know how a knight moves in Chess.
Well, starting in square #1, the moves I made in that picture can be followed by the numbers.
I made it to #93 out of a possible 100.

Here's an online version... (uncheck the tiny blue box or it will drive you crazy)

Although this update is supposedly available for Windows 11 systems, if you download and run the .msu it reports that 'The update is not applicable to your computer'. WHY?

Image
OS Windows 11 Pro v 22H2 (Build 22621.457)
you're on 22H2 insider build, like me. I got a .net Framework update the other day. This one doesn't apply to 22621

OS
Windows 11 Pro v 22H2 (Build 22621.900)
Because the update is only for 21H2* - 22000 series (AFAIK Updates for later series aren't yet available via the Update Catalog)

Maybe so. So why does the Release Notes say applicable to 'Windows 11', and not refer to a specific build?

None of the .net updates install on the beta version, not too sure why.

View attachment 37463

You know how a knight moves in Chess.
Well, starting in square #1, the moves I made in that picture can be followed by the numbers.
I made it to #93 out of a possible 100.

Here's an online version... (uncheck the tiny blue box or it will drive you crazy)

Yes(the Blue & Purple click), that was I meant... But, you taught something else, I too was a Spybot Search & Destroy user for a very long time and honest I do not remember seeing this game so, thanks for the input I will check it out.

It was really easy to miss. The only way to play the game was to click on that tiny binoculars icon.
If I recall, version 1.6.2 was the last of the good versions, and that was back in January 2009.
You can tell by the file sizes... when Spybot S&D died the "bloat" death.
Same thing happened to Zonealarm Free Firewall also...

It happens to all programs. They start adding a bunch of junk that's not needed.

Windows 11 64-bit
I like reading these threads even though 99% of Windows-11 and .NET framework updates don't do anything from my point of view. My computers run fine both before and after all the updates. Not like 10 years ago, when I'd hold my breath, LOL.

But then again, I don't do much to tax my computers either. Just reading, posting to forums, watching an occasional video, etc.
