Below is a summary of the new features and improvements included as part of this update separated into two sections: gradual rollout and normal rollout. The bold text within the brackets indicates the item or area of the change we are documenting.

This update includes the following features and improvements that are rolling out as part of this update. Text bolded in brackets indicates the area of the change being documented.
  • [File Explorer] Fixed: When you select the See more button, the menu expands upward instead of dropping down. Because of this, the menu might go off the screen, depending on the position of File Explorer.
  • [HTML Applications (HTA)] Fixed: HTA optional components (OC) are now in ARM64 Windows PE.
  • [Task Manager] Fixed: The Users page might cause Task Manager to stop responding when you use the keyboard.
  • [Graphics Device Interface Plus (GDI+)]
  • Fixed: You cannot get the properties of image files using GDI+).
  • Fixed: Scaling is wrong when you re-encode images in GDI+.
  • [RAW format images] Fixed: They show in the wrong orientation.
  • [Exporting chart objects] Fixed: An app stops responding when it exports chart objects in PDF and XLSX formats.
  • [Mouse and Xbox game bar] Fixed: Your mouse might unlock from the game window. This occurs when you have multiple monitors and open and close the Xbox game bar.
  • [ADDED] [Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)] Fixed: It stops working and will not start up.

That is a major problem with MS. They fix bugs for some but not all. MS has created a Cottage industry that makes Windows 11 usable.

Yes, disabling ID [51960011] (FileExplorerTabLineFix) which was an attempted fix for another issue, eliminates the problem in all cases. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

Different resolutions seem to be a factor too, other users reported the same with unusual resolutions and different display adapters.
In my machine, only the Scale different from 100%, 200%, 300% causes the problem regardless of the resolution I select. 🤷‍♂️

My display adapter is NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti.

Adding and not fixing bugs, is a job security strategy. 😂😂😂
They propagated the same bug in R.P, Dev and Canary channels.
Beta is still 23H2, and they did not add this bug, at least not yet. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

Goes further than that, add in ongoing bugs/issues with some GPU drivers/software that makes it even more complicated.

I own a GTX 1050 on my laptop.
Recommended scale is 125% with a resolution of 1920x1080.
Even if I use 100% scaling the bug is still there. Tried with 150%, same result.

Still waiting on it here. I want to get rid of that taskbar notification bell as well, can't stand that thing. I have both features on my beta build so hopefully soon on 24H2.

I stumbled on this yesterday. My wife's machine on 2314 wouldn't finish a tuneup_plus diagnostic...got stuck at 62.3% during DISM Restore. I used UUP to do a repair and reinstall...no issues. However, using the same config I tried to install on another machine...it reinstalled 2314. However, I found the folder where UUP puts the updates...pulled it from there...and ran manually with no issue. It may have fixed the Windows Update cleanup issue...but the File Explorer bug is still there.

Same resolution as Josey and set to 100%, and if I set it to 150% it opens upwards like yours. Before this update it would open upwards for me as well even at 100%, so it looks like they missed increased display scales.

Just for fun I just checked it against the various scales and it works as expected at 100% and 200%, but opens upwards at any other setting.

There are 4 PCs in our household - 3 desktops and a latop all on this 2448 build. Having applied the update, all of them still opened upwards. I fixed my main PC and the laptop with the Vivetool workaround, but left the other two till today. Before applying the fix, I checked them both and found they're now both opening downwards so need for the fix after all.

I remember clean-installing these two PCs a little while ago, and the problem only surfaced 2-3 days later. Same has now happened but in reverse.

Go figure!

What is the Resolution and the Scale setting of the Display on the 2 PCs that started working without disabling 51960011?

No change here. Without disabling [51960011] (FileExplorerTabLineFix) the 3 dots menu still opens upwards. 😝🤷‍♂️

On my desktop PC running 26100.2448 24H2 the only option is the shortened date/time format. There is no option to change to a longer format other than show seconds as well. Don't get what MS are trying to achieve with this gradual rollout mumbo jumbo. 🤷‍♂️

MS management seem to have a strategy to confuse everyone as much as possible.
